Dreadnought Voyager GMT - Quick preview

    Hi all

I couldn't help myself and did a little mini pre release write up on the watch you are all waiting for. I did this whilst having a little break from writing about something else (so it's short and sweet) but it brings Eddie's pics together in one place:

    Voyager

    Cheers

    Ewan

PS - the something else won't be short and sweet!

    Ewan: Thanks for another mini-review.

Great mini-review of what will be another Edie icon.

Thanks for the review and it's good to see all the info put together in this way.

    As an aside,
I’m assuming inclusion of a diver’s extension link within the clasp
I'm pretty sure it does indeed have the extension link.

Great review as always Ewan (as was your PRS-82!). Can't believe it's almost here!

Whether I get one or not, have always dreamt of a DN GMT so thanks also Eddie for making it happen.

The red pointer works of the inner ring that is maked for a 24 hour clock. One adjusts the hands to @ midday to change the date before resetting the hands to the correct time of day. The 24 hr feature is operated of the first pull out position I think counter clockwise I think so you can advance it to a second time zone and it indicates the hour there. Let's say you want to keep an eye on California west coast time and it is 2pm here they are 8 hours behind so you set the pointer to 6am. Obv you can set it for UK time if you like and it will advance pointing to the hour time on a 24 hour clock. I am sure you are with me (I hope i have nailed it) so 2pm and red pointer to 1400hrs.

Yes, the GMT hand moves around the dial once every twenty four hours.

yep. it is like a second hour hand you can independently set for a different hour and then it move at the same pace as your regular hour hand but in a different time zone should you wish it. Or it is a lovely coloured hand that just moves round and is nice to look at

...or more accurately half the pace, as it's on a 24 hour dial not 12.

I presume the idea is that the GMT hand it's always set to GMT, and the "normal" hour hand it's set to GMT, BST or whatever time the locals use if you're somewhere else in the Empire.

    Thanks!

I doubt whether they'll be any left for me to write about to be honest! I'm working on a review of the PRS-68 at the moment which is taking up quite a bit of time.

    Cheers

    Ewan

I'm looking forward to your review of the PRS-68, Ewan! And hoping, of course, that you are able to review the Voyager "in the steel" at some point in the future.
