Thread: Power Reserve Complication (inputs needed)

    Power Reserve Complication (inputs needed)

I'm thinking about getting a watch with a power reserve complication (manual wind)

I've searched the forums for input, but came up short. I would like to find one in the 400-800£ range, but the ones I find a either too cheap (lacks quality/looks), or are automatic... which kinds of ruins the point (fun) IMO. The manual ones seem to start at a higher price range.

Any inputs are very welcome. It can be new or used - but if used, it must be for sale

Pictures are of course preferred and appriciated... so let's se 'em

...I can start with this Schaumburg I really like - unfortunately, it's too expensive @ ~1500£

Whoops, I'm really sorry! In my enthusiasm to recommend Orient I missed your manual wind requirement.

LOOOL - I really like Orient as well - especially the divers. However, no good in this regard

Wow Im loving that! Ive not seen one of those before..........my only (very slight!) concern, would be, it "may"? be a little hard to tell the time correctly when the hands are at 2 ish and 10 ish? Or is it the way the watch is at a slight angle in the pic? Hope you understand what Im trying to say?! Either way, its a lovely looking Seiko! (apologies to O.P. if Im spoiling the thread!).

I have this older Epos. Perhaps you could check out the current range and prices.

What about autos that also handwind?- you could get the rotor removed if you feel strongly enough about it?

I suppose you could do that... but it would feel rather odd, wouldn't it?
That Jusnkers is a great looking watch, but that name 'Junkers' is just awful on a watch!

Can`t see the point, especially on a hand wound. Can be useful on an auto, if only to check the auto-winding's still functioning.

If you need to know the power reserve, wind the watch fully then it's 100%.....a bit like filling your car up.

I worked on an Orient Star recently which had this complication.......it was fun putting it back together! Not the most enjoyable job I`ve done but it was interesting.......in a masochistic sort of way.

Each to their own........I don`t get it.

It's probably just a glitch in the matrix.

Exactly - and just as in a car, I neeeeed to know when it's about to run out of juice

Tbh, it's just for the fun of keeping track of the reserve... I'm thinking that on a auto it would be more or less @100% all the time - which would make the complication even less relevant to have. So it must be a manual

Thank you for all your inputs so far
