    micro/boutique/indie watch companies

    Hi all,

I fancy something a bit off the beaten track (and more affordable) and was hoping some of you could post up some lesser known watch manufacturers.

    Thanks!

Try the Page & Cooper site, plenty of interesting stuff to get the ball rolling.

+1. Good call on Page & Cooper, whose proprietor Jonathan is on TZ (Jbusybee).

Yes I have heard of timefactors! Was thinking something more along the lines of Prometheus and Deep Blue.

Will look into the cooper site, thanks.

Have you looked at Uhr watches or Obris Morgan or Bernhardt?

I looked at Uhr briefly a while ago, will have another look now. I like the look of the OM explorer!

I would not advice that - lower quality and questionable resale value. I've never found any other micro whose quality approached Timefactors. Most others are made in one of two Chinese factories (Fullswing and Longio). Quite often, it's the same actual case being reused over and over again....

Guessed that the Explorer might interest you. Remember that you could get hit with VAT as import from outside EU, but that's true of quite a few brands (not Timefactors!). There are EU sellers but I don't think they have the explorer available yet.

Lum-Tec have almost cult following among some people...
Nice watches, but I liked them better when they had lower prices.

    Apart from that:
Halios, Helson, Benarus, Magrette, Bathys, Laco, MKII...

Helson and Benarus make decent watches and are worth a look.

Either of these two. Quality for the price range is phenomenal.

Too many out there and would expect answers to be all over the place. Seems there is a new micro brand every week!
Good thing is most are well made and reasonably priced
Bad part a lot have non-ETA Movts and catalogue cases!

Crepas / Tactico. Not sure they have anything for sale at the moment but I bought a Tactico TC2 from them. Great company, great quality.

Gas gas bones are doing a watch now posted up on another thread a few weeks ago. It will be ones of the first few pieces, doesn't get more micro than that.
