I really do like the look of these.
The chronograph fashion has finally gotten to me too
I would have preferred a soviet one but that has become a mine field and the current russian products are no longer fited with the 3133. The last one was the OKEAH project of HdR form and although I can still get one, I dont like that model.
I decided to turn to the 21st C. source of many things horologic; look for something Chinese, Seagull. After all, when Eddy puts a Seagull in his chrono, it is certainly enough for my mortal ´needs´.
The 1963 homage is under way....
I really do like the look of these.
That certainly looks good.
Although I would have preferred Arabic numbers all the way around.
My I ask were you found it?
Certainly a looker.
And with the Chinese having improved the movement to meet our expectations, it's a really good deal.
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
Wow, I really like that - great 50s retro feel to it.
Got a link please..?
Very nice looking watch, I didn't know chronographs were in fashion, then again I don't follow fashion.
Through spanish HablamosdeRelojes forum.
There are some old school watchmakers associated and véry involved in forum projects. Sometimes they get change-of-mind or a trade in. This one was the last left over from a group buy.
The deciding factor for me is the solid guarantee and after sales from the seller. Just like buying from TimeFactors Seagull is not the same as ditto from an ebay-shop.

I dont blame you at all
I had one of those a few years ago. They are very good for the money, if a little on the small side for me.
Nice. '63 is my birth year too, which makes it even more appealing. Is that the sapphire or acrylic version?
Very nice. All the better for having 21 Zuans instead of 19 Zuans :)
It is a handsome design and I have no probs with the movement at all.
You have to admire those Chinese
I rather like mine. I occasionally think about flipping but haven't yet...
Lovely watch but I'm surprised you couldn't get hold of a 3133 or 31681 chronograph. There are still plenty of new ones around for sale.
I do like mine!
I know but the manufacture/models are a mess as is the aftersales. With the liquidation of the Poljot factory it became a free for all and I know enough not be content with just any which one and don´t know enough to pick the right one. The HdR forum one came from old stock from the only rightfull source ánd has a solid backup but I just don´t like the Okeah.
Looks great on your wrist Wolfie; not petite AT ALL!
That's really, really nice Cilla - I think the hand colours work well, imvho it just needs something at the 9 & 3 markers, perhaps something like what is used for 2, 5, 7 and 11
it looks to have really nice proportions
What a lovely looking watch!
What diameter is it please?
Does anyone know of another source to buy these? I've always liked the look of them :)
Juanra of relojeria Ancora in Aviles has it available on his website:
http://www.relojeriaancora.com/esp/r...SEAGULL%201963
His email is info@relojeriaancora.com
By all means send him a mail mentioning my nick.
If you need help with the language just ask.
Of all the watches I have it's the Seagull 63 that they like the most. I'd note that it's hard to wind compared to the PRS-5, presumably because it's not had Eddie's pre-sales attention. And the PRS-5's crown is larger and easier to grip.
I had one of those. It was the only watch I've ever sold. It broke three times is as many months.
Why did I open this thread? Looks great and the perfect size for normal people.
There are 42mm versions with 22mm lugs: http://www.poljot24.de/en/index.php/...atch-42mm.html
edit: As shown 2 posts up.... oops :)

...things have taken a twist.
It seems that there is a limited series of 75 only 1963s made with pvd case/caseback and I have been offered the choice as tomorrow is a national holliday so the watch will not be posted untill monday.
Here some fotos of the prototype:
I am in doubt.
+ The pvd is identical to the 38mm steel one just pvd coated, very much more rare and véry good looking.
- The original was steel.
I have the weekend to decide...

I was tempted by one of these on sc a while back, might look into them again. Prefer the original to the pvd I think.....
I get your point and have the same emotional response. It is the minus I noted.
HOWEVER: It is not the vintage one pvd-ed but a re-edition/homage/anniversay model also available with rear view on the modernised production upgraded caliber, aloso in 42 mm and with sapphire.
More like a modern retro looking ford engined jag in purple ;-)
When I look upon it as strictly re-edition I want '19 jewels' on the dial too and worst of ALL is the Nato strap which is a gotspe whichever way one looks at it.
So, when looking at it as being a 21st c. 60 year anniversary model, the perception changes with the very rare pvd version looking simply tasteful and elegant.
After all; I have a seventies Gagarin anniversary model with mechanical alarm caliber which from an historically correct pov is all wrong but still easily the by far coolest anniversary model of the lot.
My dad used to have a metallic lilac Daimler. Beautiful car, beast of an engine, cream leather and walnut everywhere. Lovely motor.
As for the '63, I would buy my one back tomorrow if I had the chance. Great watch.
Great looking watches, just moved it up a couple of notches on my 'list'. :)
Welcome to the club! I've been very happy with mine for the time I've had it, and love how well it goes with pretty much anything I throw at it:
I was just looking at these this morning, not for the first time. I've so nearly pulled the trigger a few time and I'm not sure what keeps stopping me. Lovely watch
I do like these, but I prefer the plainer 19 Zuan version. Turns out they are exceptionally rare though: I have not seen one for sale anywhere.
The one i sold was the 19 zuan version with just the gold star outline with no red infill. Great watch.
