    Suggestions for a cheap GMT?

Friend of mines asked me about a cheap automatic GMT, steel with bracelet, max £400. He has a Rolex GMT but wants something he can wear when frequently travelling to emerging market countries.

I showed him a Seiko Sportura Kinetic, which he liked - but he would really want an automatic. We looked at Steinhart and he doesn't like the idea of hommage, so anyone a suggestion?

£150 above budget, or possibly cheaper via a WTB?

Nothing else comes close for VFM and it's pretty cool. Most non-watchie's wouldn't have a clue where the styling came from either, so wouldn't be seen as a homage.

Did the Seiko Alpinist come in a GMT version?

    How about this:

Orient Automatic Diving Sports GMT FFE06001B0

    Looks good value for £102!

Yes, SBCJ019, 021, etc – but they used the 8F movement, which being an F makes it quartz.
The SARB059 is non-GMT but with the 6R15 automatic movement.

I like my Techne Goshawk. Looks good, keeps decent time and is in budget.

Thanks, great suggestions. Will discuss with my friend.
