That Monaco is quite special. I am very jealous at the moment.

well you see it's like this

I started off sporting this, because I had just wrestled the new TF Aviator strap onto it

Trintec Zulu-03 by toezapper, on Flickr

But then the postie arrived with this from the nice Mr. HappyJack

Revue Thommen Airspeed Chrono by toezapper, on

but the strap needs adjusting and that quite frankly is beyond me so I have gone back to

I've seen this posted a few times by the previous owner, but that simple wristshot has got me really admiring it.

    Nice catch Mr Zapper.

I dont often post on the Friday thread, mainly because I think photos should be 'real' and I'm too lazy to get the camera out, but I snapped this with the phone last week on our jollies and was just flicking through...

It is a Titanium beauty, lighter than I imagined in a nice way; and talk about VFM what with it using the same ETA quartz movement as Breitling and Omega. The details and touches on the dial and hands I love. in a word fantastic. It's a keeper. I have the smug about me today

It's a self-build in a new old stock case, probably the same case as used by the original Precista RN diver and contemporary Sinn and Tutima models.

Back off hols to a birthday surprise

Just got back from a couple of weeks in the Andalusian sun and had my birthday while we were there. I secretly hoped there would be a package delivery note when we got home and there was. So, the package was collected from the neighbours by the missus.
I've been waiting for a couple of watches to come back from Roland Kemmner, as they had slight issues with them. One was my Fliegeruhr Typ A, the other a new Ruby Red Tonneau.
There's been a bit of a wait, as Roland has apparently been busy with a couple of other minor projects or something...

I bought this lush Hirsch brown strap for the Tonneau when I first ordered it back in May and it's been waiting for the watch ever since.
So, I immediately swapped out the black strap that it came on and I think it was worth the wait?

Incidentally I do have a thumb, it's just hard to take a wrist shot while holding a Mr Whippy.
