OK Squirrel fans...
Google 'Superdry Cheaney Boots' and, erm, fill your boots.
Put a quid or two in the FR please. Ta Eddie

Liking the dealer boots but shame not in my size ;(
Apart from a pair of brothel creepers and some surplus desert boots via Ebay I don't think I've bought any shoes for over 10 years; this makes it a bit difficult to say exactly what they are. Most have been purchased from John Rushton which makes it even more complicated as he seems to get loads of samples via his Northampton little black book and they're often not marked and you have to remember where John said they were from.
I think these are Cheaney and will probably only last another year as there is a slight split in the upper which is starting to bug me. Given that I only paid fifty quid for them I can't see a repair being economical - as you can probably guess, I don't like throwing out shoes.
These are from Fosters in Jermyn St and are unquestionably the most comfortable shoes I possess. Despite being loafers they've managed to cope with an unexpected snow-storm in Munich and quite a bit more.
I think these are Crockett & Jones and are approximately 25 years old - I bought them from John when his shop was in Brewer St in Soho. They are originally quite a bright oxblood which suited me in my young fogey days but I've polished them with black shoe polish for the last ten years to tone them down a bit.
I bought these out of necessity in Dublin when the sole of a pair of Viennese fur-lined boots split unexpectedly. They are John Whites and whilst they're certainly not great a bit of astute polishing improves them immeasurably. They're consigned to dog-walking duties and heavy snow now and probably have less than a year in the soles. This thread has been giving me some ideas about what to replace them with as re-soling will cost significantly more than I paid.
These hardly fall under the category of brogues and they normally only come out in the summer. Some may remember the department store Simpsons of Piccadilly - it was the inspiration for Are You Being Served. I bought these in their closing down sale for the princely sum of £25 along with a pair of Church brogues which are long gone. They're by Salvatore Ferregamo.
I'll post some more pictures when I get the chance.
Those seem to have plastic soles and fake goodyear welt, quite different from your Loakes.
Hi. I hear you as in the long-term the Loakes I have will be more cost effective but sometimes it isn't about value, it's about affordabiity. At the moment I'm not able to afford another pair of Loakes and these are comfortably the best I can find in my budget and believe me, I've looked!
Anyone know of good deal on a pair of C&J Islays or Harrys?
Cheers.
Try the c+j factory shop
Not totally irrelevant I think: any good shoe tree recommendations that won't break the bank?
Not sure you may have to visit the factory shop in northhamton
I would also recommend the Cathcart Elliot Ebay shop.

If you missed the Superdry Cheaney's - they have some more in...

Like one of the ugly sisters I'd love to get a pair of those Chelsea boots but I'm a 12, do they got big?
These Cheaney x Superdry boots, are they goodyear triple welted and made in the UK by Cheaney? Just wondering if/where they are cutting any corners?
Just nabbbed a pair of the sz11 almonds. Been looking at a pair of the regular Tweed Cs for a little while and had pretty much decided on walnut rather than almond, but that that price I'll not quibble.
I just ordered a pair of the size 8 walnut Cheaney x Superdry for collection tomorrow.
Just had a pair of Superdry Cheaney black Tamars and walnut Tweed boots, superb value for money.
My Superdry order is still pending. I called them up and was told their website stock is not live and that the order may be cancelled.
I managed to snag a pair of the burgundy ones - have only tried them on briefly so far and they feel very good fit-wise and also quality-wise. Not sure if they are triple welted, but they are made in the UK. Will try them out properly over the weekend.
Fancied a walnut pair as well but couldn't justify 2 pairs!
The burgundy look good with the splashes of orange and the leather looks like it'll age really well. Didn't come with the proper box, but at that price I can forgive that.
Be good to hear what others think if they've worn theirs a bit, e.g. have they taken long to soften up?
Shame none of the black boots are in the sale. The almond colour is a bit too strong for my tastes.
Just got confirmation that my Superdrys are on the way. Got a little disheartened when I saw the post about stock levels and possible cancelled orders.
I'm in two minds about the almond. I wondered whether there are cobblers out there that wax/polish shoes and can alter or tone down a shoe by using coloured polish. I assume it's possible but no idea how easily accessible such a service may be.
The Almond colour is just a nice rich tan - nothing offensive or flashy. I find it a very versatile colour TBH.
I fancy these - how do Cheaney size?

I didn't know they made for NEXT - are they identical to their own? Because the 'Design by Loake' that they do for Debenhams are pretty awful.
I didn't either. I didn't get them from Next, I got them from an indy who gets his stock from the Loake factory and has done for more then 40 years. He gets seconds and non-seconds (if that's even a term?). The ones I bought aren't seconds.
They're the third pair I've bought from him over recent years. They're exactly the same 1880 materials, build and welt as you'd buy from any other Loake AD.
I agree that the Design stuff they do for Debenhams is of a much lower quality but then they're priced to reflect that.
Believe me, these are the real deal.
