For those asking about treatments,
I use this in all my leather, shoes, belts wallets, saddles when I was in Oz and it's fantastic.

RIAC
Bought myself some Tricker Bourton today. Very comfy from the outset.
Not too sure about those ones fella.
Great 18 months after I started this thread it's still going strong.
I really looked at the sales fodder and settled for some Barkers Pitlochry which are like slippers. I also keep waiting for Zalando to pop a few more quid off the Barker Woodys.
Atfer adding two pairs of Barkers this year I am finding them a tad better than my previous love Loakes.
Paul
Might go back for the green ones as I like something a little different, I already have several pairs of various shades of Loake 1880 and Cheaney but these are actually better to look at than photograph
RIAC
Chaps
I just bought a pair of tan Loakes yesterday and they really are comfortable.
Mick
The only brogues for me are Tricker's Bourton, would love a pair of Aldens, but for the amount i actually wear brogues just can't justify the price
Just picked up my old top quality 'K Shoes' (remember them) repaired today with full dimple Dainite sole and heal. Top job by old school cobbler!! Master craftsman.
They belonged to my late father since late 80s! He never worn them and i 'inherited' them years ago and still in box - the shoes, not him in his box 😝 Great shoes. Indeed, Cobbler man said to me they dont make them like that anymore!
Jim
My new pair of Grenson Stanley.

I actually quite like them. Tan brogues always look good.
I have just ordered a pair of Loake Royal Brogue (Oxblood) but there is a nil stock situation and a 3 week wait.
Regards
Mick
Cheaney's are the cheapest decent shoes I know. Have half a dozen pairs. Three brogues/semi-brogues.
Bad news is that factory repairs are now £95 and 6 weeks.
Greve, the one and only.
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
Loake Edwards for me. takes a few wears to break in but lovely shoes.
their sizing is all over the place though as I bought 3 pairs online all in 11 and a massive difference in actual sizes.
Oxfords ended up as an 11 in a different model (would have been a 10 in the ones i started with)
Edwards down to 10 1/2 & another that i'd worn are accomodating insoles.
definately a 'try before you buy' item. All were the more expensive English made models/ranges and they have put the bloody prices up again.
Sadly, apparently not sold in the UK: http://www.greve.nl/en/sales-points/
Herring Shoes all the way!
once i figure out the picture sending settings i'll post a pic
Shoes are like watches, insofar as they involve high profit margins.
So, for example, to put (£250+) Cheaney's in perspective, factory employees are allowed to buy 6 pairs a year at £27 a pair.
In the meantime, here are my current brogues (featuring one from Herring):
The casual boys at the back: two pairs of Grenson Stanleys and one well-used pair of Loake Wharfedales
The more formal chaps at the front: Herring Fiennes and Cheaney Imperial Balmoral (the black "austerity" brogue)
and a closer look at the Herrings, the most recent brogue acquisition - made in this case by Alfred Sargent (basically the Alfred Sargent Keats design built on the Herring 1966 last):
Bought these the other day for work:

A little jazzier than I am used to be hey ho, murder on the feet at the moment as well!!
These grenson. Not sure of the model I picked them up from eBay and they have hardly been worn.
The leather on these is very supply - almost glove like.
Although they are a 10 which is my standard size the feel a bit big so I will put in some leather insoles to sort that out.

Loake 'Bedale'. The best boots I've ever owned.
My Trickers all Bourton's..
1st and 2nd pictures has the winter pairs..on the left Trickers x Kafka waxy snuff's with commando sole and on the right classic acorns x Pediwear with brown dainite soles
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]
And as i was in the 2nd bedroom dug out the summer ones..snuff repello suede x Superdenim with leather soles, look like they could do with waking up

More of a brogued ankle boot than trad shoe.
After looking for a nice pair of brogues for almost a year I finally found a pair (I'm fussy when it comes to whats on my feet) lucky for me they were also in the sale. This helps as the I was unsure on the Loakes (my original choice, but not 100% on the look)

Picked up some grenson Stanley's yesterday. Verry nice.
I like ted baker brogues always have a few pairs. Blue suit and brown brogues
I did considerably better than expected in my annual bonus recently - I am therefore going to treat myself to a nice pair of shoes before I worry about investments (and watches !) etc.
So if you had to choose, which would you get out of Loake Chester in Mahogany (rubber sole) or Barker Boyd in Cedar Calf (commando sole) ... and why ?
Cheers,
Daniel.
I wear whats called Oxford Brogues; they have the brogue punched leather but an oxford toecap. The oxford toecap lets the shoe move/age/wear better.
I swear by Cheaneys (Joseph Cheaney of Northampton, owned by Churches).

Get the Chesters Daniel. They are a cracking shoe and great colour.
Had mine 18 months and they age gracefully also.
Pitch
These today, pretty in pink :)
Churches Chetwynd.
They are OK but not a perfect fit for me. My Red Wing Beckmans are like slippers where as I know I'm wearing the Churches. They get all day everyday work wear so it's a fit thing rather than a breaking in thing.
The summer styled weather triggered me breaking out my new Timberland Earthkeepers Brogue… nice and light with anti-fatigue sole. These work well when the weather heats up a bit!
Laces were blue, which was a tad boring, but luckily I had these off white ones lurking at the back of the box ready to be called into action and give the shoes a lift.
Loakes certainly take some beating but I've recently bought a pair of sanders and they are top notch
