For the last 2 years I have been lucky enough to be able to buy,try and frequently flip nearly every watch I have admired whilst being on TZ. I have owned everything from single handed watches, to regulators, rattrapantes, dress watches, vintage watches, you name it! Anyway, I am now in a calmer place and now have 8 watches (excluding 3 put aside for flipping), all of which I love. So after 2 years, I thought I would share my lucky 8 with you all.
Here are the 8:
Girard Perregaux Richeville Perpetual Calendar (most comfortable watch I own, beautifully made)
JLC Master Memovox Reveil (simple, elegant and functional!)
Panerai PAM 70 (40mm perfection. Brushed case, polished bezel, blue dial, lovely nubuck strap)
Franck Muller Transamerica SR 2000 Bi Retro (amazing dial with bi retrograde second hands you can't help but look at. My wedding watch)
Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Dark Knight (Big watch, wears small, stealthy. Love the 120 hr power reserve and the red tip on the second hand!)
Rolex Cellini Danaos XL (Unusual, slim, looks great with a suit or dinner jacket)
Girard Perregaux Evo Moon Big Date (what a watch! Gorgeous dial, looks great on the wrist, comfortable bracelet)
and last but not least Nouvelle Horlogerie Calabrese Analogica (everyone needs something a bit left field, this is a cracking well thought out watch)

Plenty in that collection to like. The BP stands out for me :-)
I like all of those except the Panerai. I will never understand the attraction of those watches. The GP though is a superb looking watch.
That is a cracking set and a few bobs worth that I am sure of.
Threads like this make this place and educate the novices/new boys like me of other 'stuff' out there. Such a change from the 'norm' that crops up in most collections with mine being no exception.
Nouvelle Horlogerie Calabrese Analogica, what the hell is that.???????? Quirky to say the least and I am blown away. How the hell does that work. It does not just breaks the mould, it stamps on it and p122es it against the wall....

I remember admiring the Franck Muller Transamerica when it was on SC and it is just as stunning now as it was then.
The GP Evo Moon Big Date is a new one to me but the dial is really striking. Such an under-rated brand with so many great watches and so affordable second hand!

I'm a fan of the GP PR/Big Date, and the rest aren't exactly shabby either.
What a fantastic and varied collection.
I love the GP Richeville and finally I've seen a Rolex that I like in the Cellini.

What a collection. Most coming from left field, I love the muller and the Nouvelle Horlogerie Calabrese Analogica! Stunningly different.

Nouvelle Horlogerie Calabrese was a Company formed by the great watchmaker Vincent Calabrese. He is responsible for creating the Corum Golden Bridge and also the Blancpain Flying Tourbillon (I believe he now works for Blancpain).
The 'Analogica' watch in my picture although looking a bit unusual is very straightforward. The hour rotates around the fixed ring which are the minutes. So in the picture the hour is 10 and the minutes 8, so the time is 10:08. On the outer side of the fixed ring is a moving date. So in the picture the date is the 8th, so when the date says 15th it appears near the bottom of the ring at the 6 position.

The FF has always been one of my personal favourites but that Cellini has a dial that certainly catches the eye and I'm sure looks even better in real life. What size is that actual Cellini?

I'm increasingly becoming a big fan of those Cellinis. So much so I'm thinking of putting it on the list of future acquisitions. I can see that looking good in both a smart suit situation, but also in more casual clobber as well.
