After the devastating loss of our beloved Mac, rescued and homed for 9 years...

... We now await the arrival at the weekend of Merle. Another rescue who's really been through it. We are going to foster him for a month and hope to keep him. If we can't at least well be able to report back to the charity and hopefully improve his chances in the future...

Love this thread.. Nice to see some working dogs as well..

Here mine, 43Kgs of Golden Retriever. Worked and competed him for 5 seasons but now starting to retire him as he finds a long day shooting knackering.. On the look out now for his replacement so that he can pass the skills on..

Taking it easy after a tough day competing..

Not only did he have to do his water retrieve, but get the dummies back for those that didn't like the water.. Surprising how many gundogs do not like water!!!

End of the day and bloody cold..

    My dog Rhubarb.

My old boy, 15yr old, who passed in September.

    He loved Xmas

    ..and kiting.

When I told people that he had his own kite, they didn't believe me - so I made a wee video of him flying: Kitemonkey

Here's Millie, my mother-in-laws dog who I walk when time permits.

Squirrel hunter par excellence, naughty as hell and both stubborn and stupid in equal measure. Despite all her traits you can't help but fall in love with her, she's a real character.

My little fella, as a pup and now as a one year old, naughty at first, but with good discipline he has turned out to be a wonderful dog, for a treat I have taught him to say 'Homo' lol

I was told the other day that dogs don't have souls and can't go to heaven. Then stuff it I say, who the hell would want to go there. Pun intended.

Our old dog Max - we lost him a couple of years ago:

And Zak, our new dog. He's great with people and just loves kids - pity he's a complete psychopath with other animals, so we have to walk him with 2 leads on a harness and wearing a muzzle (the dog, not us).

This is our wee Kona the beagle, named after the coffee bean, a rescue dog we got after we lost our 13 year old lab Brook.
We had waited a year before getting another dog after loosing Brook, we had no intentions of ever getting another dog but glad we did.
She is so shy and in some ways not very beagle like, now considering another Beagle pup as we love the breed but not sure I could handle going back to raising a pup.

Don't I know it Sean mate... One Springer is completely ambivalent, the other is totally intrigued - we are one fluffy bunny cuddly toy down already!

I must say, I thought that. It reminds me of the work of a Japanese photographer who found a way to make Tussaud's dummies look real.

Thanks chaps - I was playing with a new flash, trying some 'low key' shots of my wife and new baby daughter... The Springers aren't getting much attention at the mo, so took a couple of them also, this was my fav shot!

I looked up Hiroshi Sugimoto C-B, very interesting work, he does use low key a lot!

Not mine.My mums rescue dog and a new addition to her family. This is Estrella.Begium Sheppard/Collie cross. Not sure of her full history but has obviously been poorly treated in the past but has now found a home where she will receive all the love she deserves.

Funny enough the first thing I thought of was the photo of an Iberian wolf clearing a gate which won the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Award a few years back. Unfortunately it was found the wolf wasn't very wild at all. Great photograph all the same though.

Link to story for anyone interested.

Beautiful... If it wasn't for the wife, my two springers and my 3 week old daughter I'd be PM'ing now mate! (I remember the foot biting only too well!)

Here is my Doberman, I had her for 8 years, she's dead now though.
She was loyal and never any trouble, happy running around the farm or sat on the tube at rush hour.....
I'm still gutted she's gone- could never replace her....

    She had some pups once;

Gorgeous - If it wasn`t for our two Ginger Ninjas ........ then again another puppy would perhaps give 2 year old Alfie a rest from 21 week old Amy

Cant stand the breed myself. All I ever see in in town centres around the South is this breed along with their tattooed and redbull carry owners...

They are known to be aggressive and were bred to be. Whatever happened to wanting a dog as a Friend/Pet (lots on this thread I'm pleased to see) ?

I really don't understand Rottweiler/Pitbull type dogs being "popular" as pets...
