You sound like the type of person a rescue dog can only dream about having.
Our boy seemed to settle in our house the minute i brought him home. In hindsight i wished I'd recorded that moment.

Now, if anyone did it to my car, I'd turn it to a soap bar. Just kidding! I'd be worried sick if the poor bastard ate any of the plastic trim or leather bits and get a bowls obstruction.. It's absolutely sickening what some 'humans' are capable of doing to the critters who are totally dependent on them for food and water.. Well done giving that dog a second chance in life, they give us in return so much love and fun.

Anyway, I bet the strap was delicious ;) would be great to see more pix of the rascal :)

Many rescue dogs seem to sense when they are 'home' and safe. Nice you could help him, so many need a good home.

Love the idea you have "best" gardening gloves. Lovely pic.

In a couple of months we'll be looking to get another rescue to fill the gap left by pau pau a few years ago. The time feels right. The wife wants a big dog like a retriever but due to her general lazy nature I'm trying to steer her towards a greyhound. We shall see who prevails. My guess is we'll end up with a staffy as there seems to be loads.

Does anyone know of any good rescue places in the east Midlands, Leicester area outside of dogs Trust and rspca?

I've always liked English as well as Staffie bull terriers. When i was a kid in the 60's a bloke near us had them. All the kids who didn't have dogs were frightened of these handsome dogs but they were gentle as lambs and i never even saw them growl at anybody or anything.

I'd imagine the strap was delicious, two years of teenager sweat marinading it nicely.

We wouldn't be without a brace of doglets and Mrs B (and I agree) isn't a fan of the puppy industry so we'd always rescue. A few more pics.

They are very stubborn to train but are absolutely adorable and very clownish - I'm sure they just do potty stuff to make us laugh!

They even look funny when they are asleep.

How wonderful - she looks an absolute darling!

Having had, and all too sadly lost, numerous dogs over the years I have come to realise that whilst these new additions can never replace old friends each instead brings a completey new and fascinating dimension of love and affection. Enjoy!

Looking forward to seeing all the photos after 7th June!

We gave up trying to train him after a couple of weeks. If he doesn't want to obey he won't both but probably like most dogs, anywhere he's walked or any pubs, shops or whatever he's been in, he remembers. And on any new walks he goes on he acts like he's been before anyway.

We've had 3 kittens from there.
Got our Staffie from North Wales, i think the woman who ran the rescue home had 9 in at the time, all ended up with forever homes.
Our boy was about 2 weeks away from something he didn't deserve when Margaret rescued him.
She had to jack in the rescue home through ill health which is a loss.

    Thanks Buddy.

Zac, the GS/Collie X (now 11) was majorly abused with his previous owner. Never been in a house, didn't understand stairs, never been in a car etc. The first 6 months were really hard..................His nickname is now ASBO ;-) In a nice way of course.

Jet, the Cane Corso (now 5) was abandoned at 10 weeks old. I reckon she had just started to show her personality and it was too much for the people who had her. We got her at 12 weeks and she is by far the most loving loyal dog I have ever owned. We were worried that Zac wouldn't accept another dog so really chanced our arm on a trial but they are completely inseparable. Jet likes to body slam Zac first ting every morning when they are ready for walk. She is nicknamed THUG ;-)

    Keep the pics coming everyone.

I am Dachshund mad, having had them as a child, so the current fashion for them meets my approval. A lady in the office is off on her holidays soon for a long weekend, so I'm delighted to be dog-sitting this little but long fellow, Frank. Please expect a plethora of photos when I have him in at the end of the month.

There is a real possibility that his owner may not get him back.
