They are really excellent dogs, mischievous but with a great sense of humour.

Dewclaws completely gone and she's healing nicely thanks!

We did keep the cone on longer than we'd anticipated, but we couldn't risk her getting them infected.

They certainly haven't stopped her from behaving like she did with them

Glad to hear that. Our JR has broken hers (the nails that is) two or three times, usually when they've got a bit too long. Would be better to get them removed I think, but we've been advised to just keep them short.

If you can keep them short, that’s a better option. Having pulled them a couple of times, she wouldn’t let us near them to trim them and she gets far too stressed at the vets.

    Much happier now.

    Show us your dogs

    Desperate day...
    We’ve lost Poppy today.
What turned out as a vets visit for sickness and restlessness has ended with her slipping peacefully away in my arms.

X-ray revealed a suspected intestinal blockage that exploratory revealed was a pancreatic tumour constricting everything.
The vet called and allowed me into the theatre to hold her as she went.

    I’m distraught.

    RIP Poppy

We’ve sorrow enough in the natural way,
When it comes to burying Christian clay.
Our loves are not given, but only lent,
At compound interest of cent per cent.
Though it is not always the case, I believe,
That the longer we’ve kept ’em, the more do we grieve:
For, when debts are payable, right or wrong,
A short-time loan is as bad as a long—
So why in—Heaven (before we are there)
Should we give our hearts to a dog to tear?

Sorry to hear this John.... Sadly the wife and I know exactly how you feel. Especially when it’s unexpected..

It does get easier as you remember the good times, and the great life you gave them.

    Bertie will share his ball...

So sorry to hear of your loss. The huge loss we feel is the price we have to pay for their unconditional love and companionship. I'm sure she had a great life with you.

My wife's heart will be broken again when she sees this pic of Dot. About 20 yrs now and pics of your EBT brings back tons of memories that start with: "Remember...?"

Any chance for close ups of your hound? Also, the scenery behind looks beautiful, where it was taken please (roughly, no need for the exact location for obvious reasons)?
