^^^^Sorry to hear that.😢
So sorry to hear that Gee, my sincere condolences
So sorry Gee.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
Really sorry to hear that. It’s a raw pain like no other.
Don’t know what to say to offer comfort. Stick in and know you gave them the best they’d ever have hoped for, and some.
My heart is with you! All the way.
Jim

Delighted to, thank you. Between you and your Saabs and me and wee Ralphy we have a lot to share.
Jim
Gee my thoughts are very much with you.
I spoke with a Staffy owner yesterday and she said that her previous Staffy - she has got a youngster being only 2 years old now. Said that she lost the old one after an incredible 24 years!
WOW is all I could say back.

One week later and wee Ralph is getting bigger.
Obvious comparisons get made with Brodie - and they are very different.

The size comparison test!!
He looks like a good boy, but make sure he has plenty of stuff to chew. That chair looks mighty tasty!
Ohhh that’s a beautiful pup!
Week 2 ends and 3 begins
Bad habits are aforming
Who cares!!

Good to see Jim,
Who cares indeed !!
My dogs have always slept outside.
They have a big insulated kennel with a thermostatic heater.
It’s never below 16’ in there.
When I was married, the dogs came in the house as far as the kitchen.
They had a big bed in there they all lay on.
They didn’t go in to carpeted areas.
Since divorce and the new Mrs Wall convincing me otherwise,
The dogs now have access all areas.
They still sleep outside at night but lie where they please,
Carpets, settees, even on the bed when one of us is still in it.
Their lives are too short to waste on silly rules.
I salute your bad habits sir,
Have them as close as they want.

We’ve tried the rules thing John, but I’m not sure who the makers and breakers were at the end of the day.
Ralph will be our last mutley I reckon so what the heck!
He’s a great wee chap. Still can’t help making the comparison between him and Brodes but he is his own wee self.
May yours enjoy the great life you’re giving them.
Woof!!!

Mmm... in this household, furniture is for humans and not for dogs. My dogs never sat or lied on a sofa. And I cannot say that they were less happy, down on the carpet (Underfloor heating...).
Our dog goes where she pleases, which, as she gets older and more grumpy, is wherever is least convenient for us!
The only rule I enforce is no begging at the dinner table, as I just can’t abide it. Even that proves very difficult as my daughter has no resistance to the puppy eyes.
It's indeed comfortable...
When I was a college teacher, I had an enormous classroom with... underfloor heating. The classroom was so big that I'd convinced my boss that I needed a few sofas in my classroom, near my library. Those youngsters came in and took off their shoes and sat on the sofa when reading books. Some even wore slippers they'd put in their locker. It felt like an enormous household from time to time.
During that time, I had a colleague who'd stipulated that she was willing to come to work @ our college, provided she was allowed to bring her labradoodle in. (A teacher for Latin is very, very sought-after here). That dog had a cushion in front of the classroom. The fun thing was: she'd trained the dog and the pupils! The dog was greeted by the pupils at the start of every hour. And then he had to lie on his cushion. That was the signal for the pupils that the lesson had started! Those youngsters didn't see through her trick! They just pulled out their stuff quietly!
I feel he’s auditioning for porn hub

Brilliant.
Glad to hear. Memory is getting worse!
Wear it in rude health.
All the very best.

Keeping this in here, any recommendations for a good one with low excess and one(s) to avoid please

The little fella in the pic was Henry, a collie cross who was rescued as a pair from DogsTrust when their elderly owner passed away.
Henry was around 14 years old, we don’t know exactly as he was a rescue.
He had been unwell for some months, and was in considerable pain. He had been receiving steroid treatment and Pardale V for arthritis, but his legs finally failed and he was unable to walk or go pipi.
We made the tough decision to let him go a week ago, this was the last picture we have of old Henry and young Walt.
Henry and Bronte joined us in Summer 2022, it’s satisfying to think that we gave them three happy years. Bronte is still with us, but is a similar age and is also becoming frail.

On a happier note, Walter has been helping with the spring chores in the garden

Sorry to hear about old Henry, but it sounds like he had a lovely last few years.
Please accept my condolences on the sad news regarding Henry :-(
I have no doubt that he had an amazing life.
Our Pippa also came from Dogs Trust, so her exact age is somewhere between 14-15 years old.
We now regularly have wet dog beds, especially overnight so the pads are down.
However, despite looking frail, she still has a mad moment, eats well - mainly treats, which SWMBO gives, as she is a soft touch LOL I mean those sad brown eyes, who couldn't. and appears very content.
I wish Pippa would be as helpful as your Walter LOL
