How big is it? I've got this one.

Pretty quiet at work yesterday so decided to go for a wander around Liberty. Saw this in their vintage accessories section and thought i would share as it is rather unusual (well i think so in any case). Not much is known about it having spoken to the sales assistant, but apparently an original Smiths gentleman desk clock (circa 1960's i was told). Hand wound over sized pocket watch style and priced at £355 for any of you Smiths fans out there.
Size - Dial only is 7cm across and the watch body measures 9cm across.
Anyone care to shed anymore light on this?

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Not sure of the size, visually they look about the same. However I will try and find out more and update this thread

Edit - size update below.
Not sure this is catching many peoples attentions though.
Search for Goliath pocket watch on the "Bay of Fools"
Loads of options on there.
The watches with 8-day movements go for big money
I have been told that they were used a display models for the smiths pocket watchs, advertisiing if you like.
They are a bit on the large size to be useable.
I got one in one of my draws some where, sort of things I have picked over the years.
I am pritty sure it is just the useual 30 hour movement as there are no extra wheels in the movement plate.
Hope this helps.
Tony.
Kinda like it.
Hiya Andy. I also have a similar watch to yours. It was my Dad's Watch given to him by Smiths Industries in Cheltenham c1966 where he worked as a technical illustrator. As far as I know these were only given to a few employees there at the time and are limited edition. I have not seen one since he left it to me until I was trying to research it recently and came up onto this site. I also cannot find any info on it. Not very helpful I know but that's all I know to date. John Butfield.
That's a lovely thing.
I really like it, fresh and simple
big, simple and clean; I like it a lot to. Cherish it
