Eddie, can I be one of the first to say what a beauty it is? You and the team you work with to bring these to the light of day do a superb job
i think i'll have to try one at some point it's a superb looker.

Tony, just accept that it was a load of hooey and never going to happen in a month of sundays.
There...now you can go and buy one and not feel that you are doing anything wrong. Don't forget the moody picture though...perhaps you could use a butter knife to help set the picture off?
You've said you're going to get your collection down to six, but will pay me money when you sell each one of your five keepers. So I suppose you have one space, although I haven't a clue how many watches you actually still have!
It's going to be so much easier if you just pay up now.
"A man of little significance"
I don't like aboit the watch is the bright, almost green lume. I would have chosen a little vintage look, but not too yellow. And a different lettertype for Smiths would have been nice... but the idea is good though. And for that price I would rather have the original.
Seiko has to open her eyes and make some reissues of the 6309 and 6105

Lovely, lovely watch, one of Eddie's best.
Unfortunately too expensive for me.
I'm sure they will fly off the shelves.
I think this one has a lot of personality. When you consider it is a German constructed Fricker Built case with the perfect solid end link bracelet then the price is very reasonable. The beauty of the casework and bracelet are amazing. I gotta give Eddie and Fricker credit.... an amazing piece.
I am no expert on the vintage Seiko pieces but have to believe that there really are two types of customers for this piece. The customer who wants the look of the original but the functionality of a modern watch with all the utilitarian benefits of a tool watch. The second customer who wants to keep his vintage Seiko intact and have an everyday version because they love the model design.
I think Eddie has priced this perfectly and imagine he is not passing along the full impact of the cost increases which he realized during production. That is a story that never changes. It costs more to make than projected but you have to be realistic when pricing it for sale. It happens in every industry. This one is a really good value for the money IMO. These Fricker made pieces with original design specs have to be very expensive to fabricate.
And I agree it is one of Eddies best watches to date. It really turned out to be a beauty!
A pity the site won't let you order it yet!!
Or you could be just plain mad and buy this

I'd like to know the length of the waffle strap please.
When new owners get theirs, that would be most informative.
Or Eddie himself, perhaps?
Outstanding!
"The launch of the Smiths PRS-68 Diver has resulted in an all-time record number of orders for one day (9 hours actually). Whilst this is a good thing, it's created a 4 day shipping backlog and ordering has been disabled until the backlog is cleared.
Apologies for any inconvenience.
Eddie Platts"
I am not positivie it was produced by Fricker. I guess I must of read about some new pieces being produced by Fricker and assumed this one was also produced by them.
I see no reason why Fricker would NOT produce this piece for Eddie. But, I looked at the webpage and do not see any mention of Fricker or German produced watch.
My watches were made by Fricker from 2003 - 2007 but from 2007 have been made by Roland Kemmner, who was the production engineer at Fricker and started out on his own. Even when my watches were made by Fricker, I only ever dealt with Roland Kemmner.
Eddie
Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Thanks for the insight, Eddie! I thought there was some Fricker connection for the years I have been following your production pieces. But, times change and
we follow. Thanks for the updated information. Roland makes some very beautiful pieces and your Smiths Diver is a stunner!
Is there a Precista dial that would work for a mod?
I'd really love one but would prefer a Precista to Smiths
Prs 18a dial ?
Just the name and font, I like the Precista brandname, for me it's synonymous with the forum although I doubt I'd buy a watch with Timefactors on the dial, Graham,Marvin or Bell&Ross (sounds like a butchers shop to me) have the same lack of appeal as watch brand names but it's all a matter of taste. And as modding is becoming more and more pop aular you never know offering alternative dials might give Eddie another revenue stream.

^ Great pictures, especially the top one --- the dial of your PRS-68 shows a beautiful blue tint to it so I assume you've caught the AR coating on the underside of the crystal just right for a perfect shot I think.
I also think you've chosen very well for the colouring of the NATO for a very nice match. Could you please say what make/colour that NATO is? My guess is that it's a "Desert Sand" 20mm Maratac maybe. Thanks
^ Thanks, Chris, but I cheated a bit by having one the same size and colour on my FreeStyle Black Shark Classic (which the company says is "The Original Surfer Watch", but I would like it even if not at about 12 GBP equivalent on sale locally).
I've also happened to had the opportunity to see what that particular Desert Sand colour NATO looks like on several diversely colour schemed and shaped diver watches in addition to my own black resin "cushion" case digital FS Shark Classic, and I thought the Desert Sand colour went very well with each of them so it's not a surprise to me that same strap looks so perfect on the PRS-68 you show it on above
I really want one but there are redundancies lurking again. I may just buy one and put it on my plastic though. I could do with cheering up a little!
. Great pics chris I love the profile one's Are the 12 indices sloped looks about 45%..or is it a trick of the eye.
Paul.
One of the many joys of the inner domed and faceted crystal is the impression of a slightly convex curved dial

Could I get student discount??
I [never - poor grammar] got bugger all when I was a student, so I see no harm in trying my luck, I'm always disappointed though when they say yes, can I see your student ID, it's a bit like being asked for ID when buying alcohol, except when you get "oh I remember you from the other day!".....excessive drinking habits alluded to!!
