He occupied much of my childhood TV viewing. RIP.
Just heard the sad news of Alan Whicker's death. Really enjoyed his travel programmes, and he inspired me on my travels.
RIP Alan Whicker
He occupied much of my childhood TV viewing. RIP.
Very sad news - he had an amazing like and I can highly recommend his autobiography from his time in the army "Whicker's War".
What a shame, a national institution.
A good innings and he had a good life.
RIP Alan Whicker.
Cheers,
Neil.
top fella.. rip
Always an enjoyable program, whenever he was present - R.I.P.
His program's inspired me as a child to want to visit other countries. There are not many people that you can say that they inspired you to action.
A major part of my childhood viewing sadly gone. Enjoy your next journey Alan.
“Don’t look back, you’re not heading that way.”
R.i.P Again a big part of my childhood viewing. Sad news

"Well they would say that ... wouldn't they!"
just realised he died years ago
Are you sure? I was talking to him at the MCGTG in October.
Don't be too hard on yourself Mr. Monitor; I was making an attempt at humour.
I did once hear of someone who didn't appreciate my humour. Hard to believe I know, but it did happen.
