Personally I'd go with one of the following:

    Aero http://www.aeroleatherclothing.com/

    Eastman http://www.eastmanleather.com/

    Goodwear http://www.goodwearleather.com/pages/index.html

Soul revolver look a bit "fashion" to me but I'm a jacket snob (rather like being a watch snob I guess).

    Cheers,

Wow, some very nice looking jackets at Aero. That could get expensive.

It can and does - I only have 2 (but that's over £1000 right there).

    Cheers,

Another vote for Aero. They may look expensive but the craftsmanship and hides they use justify the cost. I've got a steerhide highwayman which is just amazing. The Soul Revolver stuff looks a bit mundane IMHO.

Aero here too. Got a goatskin highwayman that I love. Just bear in mind the lead time for custom orders is about 3 months so if you order now it won't be ready until Sep/Oct. Also have a look at their used/apprentice made section.

    Cheers,
    Agree and ditto.
They seem to cater to the movie star fanboy crowd - at least according to their blurb and jacket model names. Never a good sign.

    *SIGH* agreed.
Quality and price go hand in hand.
If a price seems to good to be true, it usually is. You get what you pay for.
Here a jacket sold through another internet only company:

Thanks chaps for all the advice, I spoke to Aero they are quoting a 6 month delivery time. Still like Belstaff but the price. Are they worth it, I guess quarlity costs and you get what you pay for.

I have a custom waistcoat from Aero, a bit like a photographer's vest with lots of pockets. In the last two years it's only been off my back when I sleep.

I also vote Aero. Bought 2 G1 Navy flyitng jackets a couple of years ago and dealt with a gentleman named Ken , very helpful.

I like the Cafe Racer, The Aero Highwayman, Belstaff Panther, Belstaff Brad, Belstaff Warrington all nice jackets. I would even look at secondhand one if it was in good condition. Thanks for all your help.

Jacket freak here as well.. Soul Revolver is really fine; especially in the 1,2mm leather range. You cannot go wrong there.
Aero IS amazing as well, Schott as well (vintage 60´s schott cafe racer en route to me as we speak + a triumph bike leather as well)

Stay away only from ASOS-like brands.. Including Zara etc.. I have OCD when it´s about leather and wax jackets (9 Barbours: 2 Beauforts, 1 Cowen Commando, 1 wax flyer, 1 Trooper, 2 Internationals, 1 Bedale and 1 Durham -- wearing Barbours since I was 12 in 1995.), few Belstaffs (no leather though), few Superdry Wax jackets, tons of leather..

Anyways, Soul Revolver is just fine; gets in the group with All Saints (as in the "Banshee" series last episode -- )

For film-seen jackets, try Magnoli, LogansCloset, Wested etc..

Re. Belstaff, I'd stay away if I was you. No longer a British brand, just another italian fashion brand now. Prices went through the roof while quality went the opposite way! Barbour way superior now IMHO

I have a couple of soul revolvers. The layer cake and the Winchester. Outstanding stuff. Some of the best quality jackets I have had and the fit is superb. I think they're in a different category from Aero, Eastman, and the like, of which I also have some jackets. Soul revolver stuff is more fashionable and stylish, for lack of better words, as opposed to functional. The concept of basing some of their models on jackets spotted in movies is pretty clever. Certainly an interesting idea. Anyway, I highly recommend them.

Good thread! I'm looking to buy myself a new lightweight leather jacket for the summer.
