Wow that is stunning! Great story too, congrats!
I never thought I would find one of these in mint condition.. I do have a wabi'd/faded version, but the difference is like chalk and cheese.
Oddly, not a week or teo ago, a fellow TZer started a popular thread with his amazing collection - which included a 2446c GMT.. I even asked the usual cheeky question of 'If you ever sell..".. the reply was "never gonna sell".. something I've heard a lot whenever I've seen a mint 2446C GMT.
What makes this one more of a 'prize', is that that it was 'meant to be'... I while back I did a custom Speedie - a standard model with the white panda 'Mitsukoshi' dial and hands transplanted. A gnice guy in the US contacted me, as he wanted to do the same conversion. We exchanged many emails, and eventually he had done the conversion. Months later, he loves it so much, he decided to sell his beloved 2446C GMT you see here. I spotted it on the Heuer forum, and frantically fired an email.. and it was mine. It was meant to be!!
What I also love is that it has a white chrono hand form the much earlier model - the standard hand is red, and as cool as it it - the white hand, IMHO always looks a tonne better! Being the Mk4, it has the red tip and inlay on the hour and minute hands too.
Anyway, here it is, the last model 2446C GMT that Heuer made, the Mk4.. in all it's glory.. it is never leaving my custody!! I'm so happy, I even found an old jubilee bracelet that fits!!!
Wow that is stunning! Great story too, congrats!
Wow, got to say those classic Heuer's really do something for me and what I have heard is once you have one then the collecting begins!!...very very nice..
Delightful - nice one.
This is one of my grails too. In fact, this and the old Daytona are probably the only vintage watches I truly would go for.
Unfortunately, they're very rare as you say and therefore I've never had the opportunity to buy one. One day... hopefully!
Enjoy it
That is gorgeous! Looks even better on the jubilee bracelet!
This is the type of watch to turn up at a car boot sale, old enough to be left in a drawer and different for not many people to really know what it is...go on then I'll give you a tenner for it... I wish!!
Simply gorgeous. Congratulations.
I am dribbling slightly. What a beauty!
You're a complete and utter git.
I mean what a lovely watch!
Bstrd...
"A man of little significance"
Suck my balls
I'm happier than a dawg with two dicks.
GMT group shot please - do you still have an 11630?
Andy
Wanted - Damasko DC57
I have to say that it does have a certain something. Now what's the word I'm looking for?
WOW.
Best Regards - Peter
I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
Very very nice... thanks for making my itch worse! 😳
Congrats, what a beauty. 👍
Lovely - congratulations
Not sure I have ever seen anyone quite so pleased! Congratulations, it's a lovely looking watch.

Stewart you might have got one in better nick!!! Mmm just pure loveliness....congratulations on landing such a beauty.
That's a lovely piece, congrats.
Congratulations, that's really something else!
This is one of the few watches that made my jaw drop when seen in real life. It's just that good. I like to think of it as the love child of a Rolex Paul Newman and a GMT. Perfect design.
Im not a Heuer fan in any way, but I have to say Stewart that is rather nice. Enjoy and don't let Tony near it ;)
Thanks guys.. wow, what a nice reception it has got!
SL - love the seal of approval.
Mike - No not David's.. it came from your neck of the woods from a guy called Jim - near Lake Michigan I believe.
Andy - I don't have the 11630, Si (Foxy100) has it.. I have this and the 11063 now. I'll try to take a pic of them together.
It really is something special, the balance of the design, the subdials are 'just so', and when you think about the other 'wow' valjoux 72 watches (this is a Valjoux 724 - a v72 with GMT function) this is a bargain, dirt cheap when compared to the vintage Daytonas. I know there are other 'big catch' Heuers - Monaco, Silverstone, Orange Boy, Siffert etc.. but this, IMHO is easily up there with them, if not nicer.
amazing.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Very nice indeed!!! , good catch sir.
Mike
Thanks Vince - that Carrera is a cracker.. one day maybe I'll have one!
Here is a pic of my two GMTs..
The 2446, and the last Autavia GMT model that Heuer made, the 11063GMT..
Sorry about the reflections, I'm crap at taking shots of 2 or more.. my camera focuses in the middle.. grr.
Here is a better shot below.. but I cheated, it's 2 photos merged together ..
Thats a bit special! Enjoy
Thats stuning!
That is a very, very nice acquisition. Congratulations.
Congrats Stewart - therse are awesome watches and deserve a bigger scoop of praise and credibility from the watch collecting fraternity. The Valj.72 variant has been a stalwart of the chrono world since its introduction and the added bonus of a GMT complication is just another string to its bow.
Beautiful lines and proportions this is a watch that actually impresses a lot more in the flesh than even the most glamorous of photo's.
I know you are very pleased with it on the bracelet but i can really recommend a decent strap for this piece, here's my earlier execution example on a good leather strap - an awesome combination.
Cheers - Darren
I keep coming back to drool. The Pepsi GMT is the best Heuer ever did with their chrono's.
Those two GMTs are stunning! Congrats!!
Great watch Stewart
I'm finding it hard to part with mine lol
Mine says hi ;-)
Fantastic looking watch out looks on absolute mint condition to. Enjoy it.
My new love and may i say what a pretty watch in the flesh, heres a Q & D but you get the idea...
Very very nice indeed, enjoy
That's lovely Stewart!
Very nice!
