I had goosebumps watching that, awesome. Thanks for the link!
This is some found footage taken by an American attached to a recon squadron in Briton during WWII. The unusual thing is the US recon P4s were a problem so they changed to unarmed Spitfires. The pilot in the interview says it was the sweetest aircraft anybody ever flew.

A fantastic documentary. The old chap was modest too an extreme. Thought provoking. Thanks for sharing.
Great stuff, a clever documentary and what a pilot - awesome - thanks for posting
Thanks for posting, great pilot, plane and film.
Outstanding. Great to see the joy on his face as he realises that the footage is of him.
Really good to see this chap connected with his past. His memory and ability to recall the details was impressive, a nice chap.
I've seen some great clips from this forum but this is one of, if not, the best. Thanks for sharing.
Very Good
Amazing documentary and seemingly a great guy.thanks for posting.
Outstanding...positive......up-lifting
Thank you for posting
Best thing on TZ-UK for ages
What a pilot! What a gentleman! Thanks for posting!
A privilege to watch . Wonderful. Thankyou.
Wow, what an experience it must have been to be in that room when he first saw the film and he was told that the film crew are related to the flight surgeon.
All positive and to add in the detail drawings of the aircraft as the story is being relayed was very clever.
Credit to the film maker for keeping this story alive and my hat off to the pilot.
Seems like an ordinary guy, but doing exceptional things.

Most documentaries are padded, but that one left me wanting more.
great stuff
Thanks for that, truly wonderful and what a gentleman pilot !
He's obviously a non smoker now, made me laugh when he told himself off for having a puff, but after crashing a plane, you can't really blame him can you.
Top fella.
Thank you indeed for that, put's a lot of things in perspective.

Saw this comment on Youtube by one of the makers: "As a result of all the interest I've seen here, in the next couple of weeks I will be posting some of the uncut WWII 16mm I used in the film. Thanks :)".
And this, the day after I ask for people to recommend documentaries! Thanks for posting!
That's a great story. I loved the old chaps reaction on realising it was indeed him in the footage. Such a modest and soft spoken man.
That guy had 'The Right Stuff'
Thanks for posting
Amazing stuff, with a real lump in your throat moment. What a brave man but modest, sounds like he has had to put up with a lot of people doubting his story about the range of that Spitfire...
Just read through the comments on Youtube and it looks like Shorts HD (the film distributor) might not let it hang around for long....SO WATCH IT WHILE YOU CAN! :)
I just might have downloaded it in HD for anyone who should miss it. It's 560MB so e-mailing it won't work!
I hope the film doesn't disapear from general view, it would be sad to loose it just so the distributor can make a few quid.
Its important that younger generations see and hear stories like this. Too many of our youngsters are lacking in the kind of moral fibre that this guy had. They can learn a lot from chaps like him.
Great video. What a super modest and kind sounding chap. He looked overjoyed beyond belief!
That was beautiful to watch and as has already been said, the pilot seems to be the nicest most modest man. A really heartening experience watching that and thank you so much for posting it up :)
Thanks for the video, I had the opportunity to fly in a duel seat trainer two years ago when I was the controller at an airport that had a small flight display, Highlight of my flying life!!
