    New guy

    Hey everyone,

I'm jeff and I'm new here :D I'll be buying a new watch sometime soon and I intend to make it somewhat of a larger investment. Since I don't know a lot about watches I thought I'd join this forum, so I can inform myself before making a purchase.
So looking forward to reading you posts!

Hi Jeff, welcome to the madness that is TZ-UK.

    I can predict three things...

    1. You'll enjoy yourself
    2. You'll learn a lot
    3. You'll spend more money that you mean to

We would be interested in what you own now, and everyone here wants photos so be warned. We will all have an opinion on what you might think about buying, as well .

    Enjoy.

    Simon

I accidentally arrived here a few years ago, looking for Macrame hints and tips. It all went rapidly downhill from there...

Still, now you're here, there will be no leaving. Ever.

Hi Jeff, welcome to the forum!

Lincoln's a lovey city! Been there a couple of times.

My advice is start to scan through posts about all these lovely watches you're going to learn lots about, pick one or two that you think you'd like to own and then...............wait a bit more and continue to look through the posts as other watches are bound to come onto your radar.

Don't be in too much of a hurry to purchase is what I'm saying

Enjoy the journey into the wonderful world of watches!

Hi and welcome..... this is a place where you will spend more than you think.... I thought it madness to spend £3k on a watch before I joined TZ.

The more you have spare the more you will spend.

Oh btw, before you start a thread asking a question try the search or Google.... the most often asked Q is 'what does WIS stand for?'

    a. watch idiot savent .....sort of meaning someone who spots the watch on a naked girl before seeing the 34dd's

Hello and welcome. I hope you enjoy your time here. As others have said, prepare your wallet for a raping! It only took a few weeks from me joining to picking up a new watch.

P.S. Love the avatar. The odd time I spot R&S while channel surfing it's still as funny as ever!

Welcome to the forum, you'll certainly find plenty inspiration and lots of advice here for your nect purchase.

Just remember that no matter which watch your asking about, there will be a fairly even split of people with positvie things to say about and those who wouldn't wear it if you paid them.....remember to get what YOU like

    Good luck,
You and your wallet will need it.

    I came here with 3-watches
And somehow ended up with this lot (plus an orange HMT = 22)

Welcome. Like myself only a few short months ago, another lamb to the slaughter!

An awesome place where you will find a wealth of knowledge and help (the latter often more a case of helping you spend your money!).

    Enjoy!

Welcome! I joined a couple of years ago, blew all my spare cash on Sales Corner without really trying and went away again. As others have said, though, you never escape, and I'm back again. I don't have any more cash to spend, but there's so much interesting stuff on this forum - and so many great guys.

You'll find plenty of good advice on here and - once you've hit 50 posts and can access it - plenty of temptation on Sales Corner...

Does that 3LE have a PVD coating? I like it. Good SOTC photo, which reminds me I must do another one

It's one of the original Broadarrow PRS-4.
As listed on the virtual museum, see the 4th post down.
The Broadarrow 3's are stainless, the Broadarrow 4's are PVD, the PRS-11's were ETA automatics.

soo, got my first noob question right here :D A friend keeps telling me about Audemars Piguet watches and apperently tries to influence my upcoming purchase. Personally, I have never heard of the brand so I wanted to "run this by" the experts on here; I mean they look nice, but are they recommendable? I should add that my friend is not really an expert...

They're not my cup of tea personally (or even in my price range...) but they are a very well regarded brand. Plenty of AP Royal Oak lovers about I'm sure.

And good to have some more Lincolnshire representation on the forum!

Hi... Welcome from a fellow newbie... If you're looking at AP watches (not really my taste to be honest), then you've got a few quid to spend... Really take your time as there will much to tempt you... Look through the threads... Google and eBay are great resources for browsing too (even if not purchasing through them)…. You'll be surprised how quickly you pick things up...!

hahaha, some of you really seem to have picked up a new addiction on here :D oh well...
I'm not particularly interested In AP watches I just wanted to get some feedback on my friends recommendation.
Anyways, I'm still open to any watch, as I don't have high expactactions yet, but I got a feeling that this will change :D
I guess I will continue browsing and maybe even go to a store and check out some watches
Also, I have to say that I love this smiley
