I've been in a couple of 'art' films
Someone asked on another post if there are any famous people on the forum so here's a thread where you can come out. I'll start, I've actually been in a Luc Besson film, twice. Although admittedly one time was only from the waist down. So have you ever been on TV, slept with Joan Collins, appeared on TOTP or been employed as a fluffer? What's your 15 minutes of fame?
"A man of little significance"
I was in the local newspaper as a teen saying how brave I was. Won't tell you why though.
Sadly not.But I have been in the daily mail pictured in the Kitchen department when I was with B and Q (2009) My brother played football for Manchester City and was part of the Coventry team that won the FA cup in 1997 but don't think that counts really
Was in the "Cornish Guardian" some 24 years ago but don't really want to go into that

Not exactly fame and there will be plenty of far better stories from others, but I really enjoyed this episode.
I was in the film Tommy, well kind of, more accurate to say I ended up on the cutting room floor...
So ,can't prove I was in it, even when I bought the video and put it in slow motion, not a sign of me!
Pay...
Got a ticket to see The Who perform at Portsmouth Guildhall in return for two days work, as did all the extra's.
Our days started at 6am, finishing 6pm (maybe later it's a long, long time ago!)
Who were my co-stars? (Tee hee!) Oliver Reed and The Who.
There was one point where it was, "Stand up, sit down, stand up & wave the placard, sit down, stand up..." ad infinitum! So I looked right at Oli Reed and mouthed some swear words along the lines of, "f*** me, not again" and he just looked me in the eyes, smiled, nodded his head as if to say, "Welcome to making films". Priceless, I'll never forget that moment.
Was it worth it? You betya!

Wanted - Damasko DC57
I was in an episode of scrapheap challenge. Unfortunately it was in the 2nd incarnation of the show after Robert Llewellyn and Lisa Rogers left.
I always tell people our team came 3rd. I usually then confess that there were only 3 teams in the episode!
I was the second gunman on the grassy knoll , does that count?
I have a picture of Me stood with PRincess Anne when she visited Marchwood Barracks, made the front page of the Hampshire Gazette. Does that count.?
Chris - you are bonkers!
I mean that in a complimentary way!
Many moons ago I went down a couple of caves in the Cheddar Gorge including the wet variety, but no way would I want to go diving in them with apparatus, just too scary! We did have to go through a sump, but that was take a deep breath and duck - ok, I was with an expert who had been there many times and we'd given the weather outlook a good coat of eyes so we knew there was no chance of rain to flood us in. A great experience that was repeated, but diving? In caves? Or the sea to those depths? A different breed!
Respect.
Leigh
I was on Rainbow
Tried to get a copy of the episode a while back but no success
Cheers

Ralph Waldo Emerson: We ask for long life, but 'tis deep life, or noble moments that signify. Let the measure of time be spiritual, not mechanical.
Well seeing as Simon has put this in G&D i will have to modify the language in my example.....although i wouldn't call it fame exactly, more infamy.
Several years ago (you can gauge it a bit from the names) i was drinking in a pub called The Coal Hole which is located on The Strand.
At one point in the evening i eased my way inbetween two gentlemen at the bar so i could order a drink. Now,i may have interrupted a conversation,i may have stood on someones feet,i may have blocked their view of a girl at the bar with enormous assests.....or a combination of these. Anyhow, the gentleman on the right (who had obviously had one or two beers) leaned over and declared me a C*** of the first order. The gentleman on the left (who had also had a few drinks) concurred with his friends observation and also called me a C***.
What could i say? It was an honour and a privilage to be called such by Mr Oliver Reed & Mr Richard Harris in the same night.
And which Luc Besson films & why?
I've been on TV three times.
An intro for BBC's Timewatch at the RAH and two antique/collectable programmes.
Many years ago I had my picture on the front page of the Independent.
Cheers,
Neil.
I played rugby at high amateuer level and once appeared on Sky Sports News for a Challenge Cup highlights program.
I used to DJ and once appeared on the hitman and her 20 years ago at discotheque royale in manchester.
Probably not to anyones taste but I've had several magazine features with heavily modified Vauxhall Nova's built by me and my pals, back in the late 90's/early 00's. the now defunct Revs magazine did a 4 page, and total vauxhall have done 2x 6 page features on two different ones!
I've been on the telly a few times as a kid:
In an Open University programme about flywheels
On a programme called Ace Reports which was ITVs short lived attempt at copying Blue Peter
On the news meeting Pope John Paul II
More recently I appeared on episode 2 of Helicopter Rescue being winched off a Welsh mountain having broken by back and foot.
I have been to the 1983 concert where most of the U2 "Blood Red Sky" album was recorded and am very visible in the video footage when Bono twice passes past me during his venture out into the audience while singing "Electric Co.".
Not exactly a claim to fame as such but I'm in this video, I'm one of the many making a run for the woods! The car came to rest no more than 6ft from where I was standing...

And staying on a Brands Hatch theme, I've been overtaken by Damon Hill driving along the start/finish straight, I was in a single seater on a driving experience day and DH was in a 16v Clio doing some promotional filming for Renault/Williams.
I appeared in an episode of Chuckle Vision at the end of the 80s.

In for a penny...
My company was the subject of a fly on the wall documentary (6 x 30 mins) in 2004 which aired prime time ITV. Obviously I was exceptional, so following that I was regularly a guest, presenter, expert, competitor on a variety of shows for many of the channels.
I openly admit to being sucked into the liking for sushi, chauffeured cars and birds with hairy arm pits, prior to seeing sense and getting well out of it.
I made a few mates and still help out here and there, but mainly on radio nowadays.
I was driving the last vehicle off the M62, the first time that they closed it for snow. (It was very large HGV with a very small engine!) The police had already coned off the road and wondered where I had come from!
Oh! Forgot to mention that I was in the British moon based pit crew for the Apollo moon landing. (We were there first actually!)

i was on the Hitman & Her in 1988, did the 'Showing out' dancing competition on stage (shudders....). Embarrassingly funny when I watch back.
I was on Soccer AM in 2003, Sheffield Wednesday fans of the week. Was picked to do the catwalk thing and also scored in the car park footy game with my last second kick.
My business was featured in TBM (Trail Bike Magazine) back in 2006. It was part of a larger, two part article about Trail riding breaks in Spain.
It was good PR but hardly counts as fame.
I think I broke Chris Waddle's toe, does that count?
I played as a yoof against a Forest 6-a-side team which included Neil Webb, Nigel Clough, Des Walker and Stuart Pearce. It was a massacre. Pearce didn't hold back, even though we were kids.
Our conservatory was featured in the advertising literature for a company showing off its limestone flooring.
Couple of pics of me in the paper floating about back home, nothing exciting.
My girlfriends often on tv and the radio and buggered off to Bransons island Necker for a few days as an advisor.
^^^^
I've met Mike's girlfriend a couple of times, does that count?
Cheers,
Gary

I am the conductor in Street Fighter - The Legend of Chun Li. I did have a line, but it is on the cutting room floor...
I was also in a Thai movie called Seasons Change.
Both appearances combined amount to less than a minute on screen, but my face did fill the screen for about a second in Seasons Change!
I know someone who knows someone who's brother's schoolmate went to nursery with a girl who dated a bloke that once took a heli trip over Monaco.

My Dad used to be one of Jason Plato's mechanics when he was Kart racing in the early 80s.
Hate to show this. Happened last spring in Brooklyn NY. The clip was shown on news shows as far away as Hawaii. The ticket was thrown out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ufiLw4WmvU

Two close friends were in the original UK version of the chippendales, called the dream boys (cringe).
I played football against Ian Wright and John Salako before they turned pro and once won a ping pong tournament and was given the trophy by Davy Jones.
I have a couple of naughty ones but will keep them firmly in my own mind
