The secret is not to think too long about it - otherwise we'd all come up with silly lists.
But take about twenty-thirty seconds - no more - thinking of what watches are on your shortlist. This way it'll probably correlate to ones you've been thinking of for a while and the ones you really want instead of a fantasy list.
I can think of about 15...with a total value of well over 100k.
Here they are if you're interested:
Rolex Daytona - Everose
Blancpain Fifty Fathoms
Breguet Marine Big Date
Patek Philippe 5712
Audemars Piguet Diver
Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chrono (white dial)
Mont Blanc Nicolas Rieussec Chrono

Hamilton - Lord Hamilton Auto Chrono
Tag Monaco Racing club LE
Dreadnought GMT
Sinn 6000
There's a Hublot I saw the other day too that I liked the look of () but don't know the model.

30 secs - there are more but that would do me for a while
TPT
Some variation of proper Royal Oak in steel (no Offshore tat, please) and something tasty in platinum (Patek 5110?) would do nicely.
I'm quite happy with what I have, however. I've come to accept that delicate and/or overly complicated watches do not suit me at this stage in life.
PS: I wouldn't turn down a Paul Newman-dialed Daytona, either. The upcoming 50th anniversary model might also be nice if they make it in Pt, though — or it might be not-so-nice. We'll see.
