I'm not that knowledgeable on this subject, but I'd say don't do it. I'd expect the laptop to have a bit of tolerance built in, but that's a 26% difference. You can pick replacements up cheaply off eBay and elsewhere.
Hi Guys
Ok my 19 volt power adaptor is no longer safe to use as the cable has worn at the laptop connection.I have a 24 volt Xbox power supply the end connector is the same size but not the same output it's 24 volt and not the same as the laptops @ 19 volt.Could I use it or NOT? and if I can would their be any issues with using it?.
I await your knowledgeable replies guys.
Thanks
Paul

I would say not, you will end up over volting your charging circuit for your battery and possibly causing damage.
Try maplins for a replacement charger or try Ebay, just be careful of the cheap chinese ones.

A higher wattage *usually* isn't an issue, but a higher voltage would be.
Best be is google the spec of your laptop and you might find there is a range for the input (say 18v-24v) so you could use it.
Quote from my PM in reply to your other threadThis one on Ebay should do the job.
