Lovely watches. The 70's was a great time for watch styles.

The MK 3 Deep Blue is a rare beast, I have found a new inner bezel that I plan on changing but I like it as it is.

Love those Flightmasters, I have the 910

I'd like to see some wrist shots, you don't see many, especially the MK111.

That MKIII really is something special. I would have bought a Speedy by now but I can't make my mind up between an original, a Mk2 racing or a MKIII.

Love that 70s styling. Makes me want to dig out my old flares and platform shoes.

Shouldn't worry too much about choosing between them, buy either then the other will probably follow. I've got two myself. A Mark II racing dial and a Mark 4.5 and I still find myself thinking about a Mark III.

    And some wrist shots:

The MK3 is quite taller than the flightmaster, it is comfortable but the flightmaster I think is more wearable. The blue color on the MK3 is just fabulous, it changes colour when you turn it into light and the yellow plane hand gives very interesting combination.

I ordered the inner bezel and new crystal/gasket for the MK3 already as these things are missing from being "minty" but I think I already think about selling it changing it for a flightmaster 910 as the colour combination on that one is a killer.

Will keep an eye on Sales Corner then!

The Flightmaster just makes me think of the original Russian Solaris film, ultimate 70's with a futuristic twist, and Futurama for some strange reason. If Bender was a watch freak, he would wear a Flightmaster.

    Both are superb :)

Would love a Flightmaster or one of those style of Speedmasters but am just a little concerned about the sheer size of the things - they look gigantic. What size are the cases, and how 'tall' are they?

would second that comment on the colour. The closest more modern watch it reminds of is the Sinn Arktis in the way the blue changes colour.

The MK3 is 1.6mm thick and around 43mm without crown. The Flightmaster is 1.4mm thick and around 44/45mm without crown

My father gave me his 1973 one recently. Since then pretty much everything else in my watch box has hardly seen any wear (mostly Seiko's, a Tissot PRC200, a Raymond Weil Tango my wife gave me for my 30th and a few others) so you could say this is my first "proper" watch. I love the sheer presence of it and even though it doesn't look it, it's extremely comfortable. Keeps perfect time too. Not bad for a 40 year old time piece!

Really nice. My MK3 is dead accurate too, around 2-3 seconds fast per day.

gotta love those 70's Omega bulldozers. Had some too and wherever I wonder within WIS-world, these are the watches I do come back to. Very very cool, Sir!

Fantastic watches, wonderful helmet cases :) My wrists are way too small to carry this type of watch, but on yours it look great!

Thanks, my wrists are "small" as well, a bit less than 7.5 inches but as they are flat I can pull off (some might not agree) larger diameters. Of course it all depends on your perspective. Fashion today is larger models so if you like it and it is comfortable on your wrist, definitely try to wear it.

Both very beautiful pieces. You say you have flat wrists; I've often wondered how these helmet cases would wear on mine. Do they follow the shape of the wrist or are they more or less 'standing' on top of it?

    Enjoy those stunners!

The case is just at the borders of my wrist, I'd say it goes very well all over it, it's not sticking out (even the MK III) they are quite laying on it, they have nice presence. The flightmaster I think is more comfortable as it is not so tall and you can put it under a shirt. The MK III us just a beast, but subtle in the same time.

I made some photos for you specifically from angles so you can see how it sits, not to put a lot photos here you can see them here:

Thanks a lot. And: wow, they're beasts! If you ever wonder why the left cuff of your sweater is so much wider... :)

    That 70s watch

It's kind of a flare case and platform watch!

Damn! I thought my recent acquisition of a Planet Ocean would cure my desire for massive heavy Omegas. Nope. I still want a Flightmaster, now even more than I did a few months back.
