Alternative to a Brady Strap for a Fifty Five Fathoms?

In the process of having my Seiko 5 transformed into a Fifty Five Fathoms and am aiming for this look as much as possible :

I read that Brady Straps are the default choice for the Fifty Fathoms Sailcloth strap look, but is there any alternative for a 22mm lug size?

I know the Bradys are leather and presume the real thing is canvas or similar?

    Any thoughts/suggestions?

The Brady is made of leather, but it does look just like that, so probably some sort of canvas look leather - Bradys are cheap too and not particularly hardwearing so I would start with one of them, that is what mine is on & I think it suits the watch well.

I would also suggest you try a Brady Sailcloth for the sake of £20. Here is mine, it looks great on the Brady. I've fitted a clasp from Watch Obsession which really finishes it off and also minimises wear. I'm not aware of anything similar but haven't really looked to be honest as I'm really happy with mine :)

Fair enough, it does look the part.

I jusr wondered if I'd missed some obvious alternative, but you've both convinced me!

Dougjb, got a link to the clasp you used? Do you mean a deployment?

Nice FFF btw - I hope mine will look as good!

I can really recommend a Hadley Roma Sailcloth made of Lorica, not leather. I use one to get the look of the Trieste strap on my Glashutte Sport Evolution. The sailcloth pattern does not wear off unlike the Bradey.

Thanks to all - I bit the bullet and got a Brady in the end, although it's not arrived yet.

I'll post a photo when it does.

I find the Brady's not particularly durable, especially not the stitching and keeper...

I'd heard that too, but I couldn't find anything different that would fit, so Brady it was.

Likely to be a while before I get it on the watch though.

For the Seiko fff there really is no better strap than the Brady sailcloth. It's a match made in heaven. Great looking strap on an awesome looking watch.
    You made a solid decision.

I have to agree (so far at least), it looks perfect.
