Hi all
I am new to the forum .
I have a Military issue Omega Seamaster 300 on Ebay at the moment, and I had a message fom someone saying that it was being discussed on this forum.
If so can anyone point me to the thread as I can't find it .
Thank you .

In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.
Or maybe here....

One could be cynical and suggest that this is rather a good way to bump up interest in your auction.
Indeed. Some of the experts doesn't like it I think.
An all time classic in the ad, which never ceases to make me chuckle, if not guffaw.......
"It has come from the workshop of a deceased watchmaker."
F.T.F.A.
What a nice reception I got as a new boy!.
And...
Oh ye of little faith !!
Yes it WAS from an deceased elderly watchmakers workshop.!!
Magirus, You can chuckle & guffaw all you like.
After it went for £5875, I will just smile on the way to the bank .!
Can't find the smiley of the little guy with 1 finger up .

And Carlton-browne, thank you for your pointer to the MWR website post .
Yes it was my watch.

You sign off FBHI but you sell a wristwatch referring to the winding crown as 'the button' and with the comment 'possibly just needs a clean and service'. You mean you don't know?
I would have thought that fellowship of the British Horological Society might require some watchmaking knowledge, so are you lying or does FBHI means something else, possibly containing the word bell-end?
Oh dear!
As a noob to the forum myself taking a look around at some posts, it does make me wonder and despair of some sections of humanity!
I've got this "xyz" product to sell and I'm an expert (enter some bogus initials) and I've just about to sell this on Ebay for zillions.
Ergo, it must be real?
Hah, no way Jose! If it was sold then sadly for the purchaser, it's caveat emptor.
If our new friend is genuine then did you have any provenance? Oh, I got it from a dead person called <<enter name of choice>> no, no, no, no!
From looking at the photo's in the links, what are those circular marks on it?
Is that where people were touching it with 10 foot barge poles?
If I and the other negative posts in this thread are wrong then we owe our new friend an apology. However, it's highly unlikely he'll return and frankly we can do without bogus sales pitches...
PS I've got this painting signed 'Picasso', it's on Ebay with a starting price of £10, I got it from this other dead artists studio - any one interested? Thought not!
This is a funny thread.
I've got a Rolex that just says "Swiss" honest and I got it from a dentist on here ~ :-)
This watch after checking and comparing with mine should be legit and correct, and if view the dial close up, you will find there is another layer of lume applying on the markers, showing the watch was under repair and restoration.
I guess is that this is a tool watch and the relume maybe due to water leakage and it is a common known criteria in those day. The fixed bars are hard to remake and also there are some common features showing the watch is legit.
Should it be fair and good to have the watch view in details and on hand before making any judgement??
Just my 0.002 cents
