The Tesco delivery driver spotted my PRS-10 today and said great watches those. I've got other far more flashy watches that nobody's ever mentioned. ( He was ex-army).

By far it is the Daytona.

    The birds absolutely love it.

For me, my LW Oktopus II. I did have in on sales corner, glad it didn't go: it's such a unique piece and, since it's one of 88, I doubt I'll ever see another one.

I've had loads of positive comments on it. My favourite was from my friend's ten year old son who told me it was "realluy cool".

The only watches I have ever had commented on are a Rolex sub ('always wanted one') and a grey dialed Rolex Air king ('so stylish but discreet'). But I have never owned one of the more dramatic looking watches.

A split for me between adults and children...

Uninformed adults regularly comment favourably on my white faced MM homage .

Children most frequently comment on my Yao Yellow Monster.

Most people of course don't notice watches at all!

Most people of course do not care what watch you have. However, I have received lots of comments from my mates and guys at my dive club and even the girlie divers are impressed with this one. Regards.Kev

I find that most people don't notice, but my Hamilton Ventura had been commented on due to the irregular shape.

Having worn mainly Rolex and Omega the only time anyone said anything about a watch was when i was wearing a Pulsar(my beater at the time)and even then they thought it was an Oris.

Point being 99.9% people don't know what you are wearing and don't care.

My orange Doxa 300T got a few positive comments at my diving club...mostly that they would like one, but bought a Seiko monster due to better price

Ziiiro Mercury, as people think it's way more sophisticated than two concentric circles with stickers on actually is.

This still gets more attention than any other watch I have.
In fact it gets attention, no other watch gets any.

My gone (but not forgotten) Glycine Airman SST06 "Pumpkin Dial" received a lot of attention. A few questions of "how much was that" ? Sadly when guessing the price they thought it had cost around £50-100 !!! I wish ! I didn't tell them the real price.

My current daily wearer, this Seiko Solar gets tons of comments!

Been asked twice if it's a Tag though.... I don't see it.

Rolex always get the classic 'is that a Rolex, or is that real' but Panerai always get the most curiosity or if they know Panerai they are really pleased to see one if that makes sense

Very true! A few years ago when climbing the watch food chain I realise I wanted people to ask about my watch(es) and was somewhat disappointed if nobody spotted a new acquisition. Those that did then disappointed me by saying "hmm, it's not as heavy/expensive-looking/nice/etc as I thought it would be, I think you're mad spending that on a watch".

Now my tastes are more mature, as is my attitude to watches in general, I find I don't care what others think and have that inner satisfaction that only I appreciate what I've got on my wrist. Maybe it's time for a Grand Seiko then!

My Panerai base logo has had more positive comments than any other I own, from old women who say that's great I can see the time on that to those who recognise the brand,my Ecozilla ona orange rubber strap was also a bit of a crowd pleaser.

    Which watch gets most comments

MM300 hands down. People seem surprised at the quality...'Oh, Seiko!'

  28. #28
I always get more attention wearing my Waltham than any of my wristwatches. People aren't used to seeing a pocket watch and chain at school! :D

Out of my wristwatches, my Skagen is always more preferred than my Seagull, that's until they see the Seagull movement.

Similar to the OP, I have a few watches that I "broke the bank" to get, but most people only ever notice when I wear one of these:

    Which watch gets most comments

In my experience, my watches with panda dials (black subdials on white background) seem to get the most attention from strangers, for some reason. Maybe it's because most watches tend to look quite similar to the casual observers (i.e., they have black dials etc) and these stand out.

Otherwise, some vintage pieces have attracted some comments. Chiefly the zenith a386, zenith a384, heuer autavia GMT 2446, and tudor Monte Carlo 7149. But I must admit, this is typically from the usual suspects, who know I'm into watches and are curious to see what's on my wrist.

Comments, in general, are quite rare.

I expect it takes their attention away from the top hat and cane too. ;)

My Panerai (177) has had the most comments.

3 people have commented on it in the 5-6 years I've been wearing it.

No-one has ever noticed (or at least commented on) my Omega or my 1680.

The only comment I had on the Franck Muller was "that's a fake right?".

    /sigh/

    Which watch gets most comments

My Mickey Mouse watch attracts the most comments. By far.

  38. #38
This one of mine gets the most comments and 99% are really positive (guess they're not WIS's), but my favourite comment was 'Hows the lume?'

    My G-Shock, can't think why......?

  40. #40
I had assumed this one would get comments, due to the weird numeral layout (sudoku), but no...
Instead the Speedy Pro in gold has received quite a few comments - it seems others also find it elegant. For a gold watch it is quite discreet and not to "bling", which I think is the appeal.

I found the addition of a nato (to a SKX007j in this instance) generated the most comments. Both good and bad (cool vs. cheap).

My old iwc big pilot (long gone) but now my yellow faced breitling emergency gets the most comments.
