Keep Panerai 26k or swap for Rolex DSSD

Having owned a DSSD 2 years ago and then selling it to fund something else I now am in a predicament. I have a fancy for another DSSD but have no money to buy one out right. Out of my Panerai I have isolated my least worn, my 26K. Here's a quick pic of it.

Here's a pic of my old DSSD.

Opinions. Am 75% sure I'll go back to DSSD but there is a small matter if the 42mm Explorer II that keeps knocking.

I've never owned a 42mm EXP, do I give it a chance or go back to the DSSD?

Give the Explorer a chance for what is life without new experiences?

Lovely PAM but if you don't wear it better trade it for something you do wear. Seems to me that you've already made up your mind about the DSSD, so go and get it.

I'm probably biased at the moment, but if you out the Panerai i would have the Explorer over the DSSD all day and every day. I kept mine all of a week iirc. The Explorer is so much more wearable and better balanced, imo of course.

If you're happy to go 'pre owned' you could get an explorer II and not loose money if you don't get on with it and want to move it on??

Thanks for the comments guys. Here are my options. 2010 DSSD will cost me £300 and my 26K or brand new pre owned with all protective seals attached 2013 Explorer II for my 26k with £500 in my pocket!?!!??!

Should I dabble with an EXP II? It is the only sports Rolex I haven't owned!

Ok, we all know how it is. Having remorse before even trading my 26 :-0

I think the best thing to do is keep it and enjoy it and start saving for a pre loved Explorer II white face 42mm.

May even pic up another Explorer I if the price is right and trade up to a EXP II, it'll give me something to do as well as something to wear.

That Pam would look FANTASTIC on a storm grey Toshi.

Worth thinking about, but then I'm not the DSSD's biggest fan...

My explorer 2 gets more wrist time than my DSSD mainly because it is more comfortable. Try the exp

This sounds like a no brainer to me! Exp II all the way.

But then I'm slightly biased as I'm not a huge fan of the DSSD.

    Hello.

I have just picked up my Explorer 2 42mm white dial. It is a fabulous watch, well balanced, very legible and extremely comfortable. I can't recommend it highly enough.

I have both and they get the same amount wrist time. The DSSD is now over-priced in my opinion. Try an EXP II 42mm.........it replaced my Sub and I have no regrets....super comfy.

Neither, sell the Panerai and put the money towards something of better quality than both Panerai or Rolex.

    What brand were you thinking?

Had an Audemars Piguet RoyalOak a couple of years ago but it just didn't do it for me.

    So, what would you recommend?

Keep Panerai 26k or swap for Rolex DSSD

In the same way you should avoid texting an ex after a few drinks, I'd avoid going back to a DSSD.

Personally, I'd keep the 26k as it looks great. However, if it isn't getting much wrist time, I'd flirt with the Exp II.

    Good luck with the outcome...

    JLC,
    Franck Muller,
    IWC,
    Zenith,
    Hublot,
    A. Lange & Sohn.

For me Panerai are fashion for the last 10 years, Rolex are the equivalent of Marks & Spencer, ok
as your daily beater, but not a special watch if you know your watches.
I would want something better and less common.

In my opinion before people flame me.

LOL @ Hublot...not sure anyone who takes watches seriously would put Hublot in the same league as Rolex, much less AL&S.

I would 100% keep that 26k - I don't see the appeal of the DSSD or the Explorer. If you flip the 26k and then have flippers remorse! You have the nicest watch already IMHO.

Why thankyou. I'm pretty set that I am keeping the 26 so have started saving for a SS Rolex.
