    'Issued' CWC diver on ebay

Is it me or are the issue numbers and date a little unusual on this one, not
seen font type like that before and also lacking the / between issue number
and date. What are your thoughts.

Certainly looks well used and genuine but also am not a specialist on CWC RN divers, I suspect the bezel has been changed as well as the crystal although the crystal is disclosed as being changed 5 years ago with gaskets etc.

Personally unless your really into military watch collecting and do not mind paying a premium you would be better off buying a new one from Silvermans at just over 300 gbp and with warranty.

    that bezel

A clear replacement bezel I think but I've seen several genuine issued watches from around that period with exactly the same replacement, could it even be that it was a genuine MOD spare part? Or is it from Cousins or somewhere like that?

Here's a pic of Toshi's SBS, from another thread, same replacement bezel I think.

    regards

    '92 RN Diver Bezel

I think the bezel is original, but only found on 1992 RND & SBS 0552 issues.

Interesting to hear you say that Terry, my 1993 SBS has the same bezel which was what made me notice it, not quite 1992 but very close.

There are noticeable differences between the bezels on the '92 0552 RND and '94 0555 RND.
    a) '92 'Rounded 4', '94 'Square 4'
    b) '92 'Wide' minute indices, '94 'Medium width' minute indices

I wrongly assumed that the SBS carried the same differences going from '92 0552 to '93 0555 issues.

More homework to do on the SBS transition to 0555.

You guys, have big knowledge about those CWC RN,

I never noticed some differences about the bezels... Mine is a 97 issued one...

    Terry,

What I meant was 1993 was close to 1992, the bezel is the same as far as I can tell. Your assumptions are probably as good as anybody's. Here is my 1993 issued SBS.

What a bonus! To find out the bezel on my 1993 SBS is totally original as issued is great. I will treasure that watch even more.
