My holiday watches pretty much do the same job as yours.
The PRS-3 auto for day-to-day use / and the Parsnip for going out (hand wound using the power meter)
One auto, one quartz.
One sportier, one smarter.
I dont think I need any more watches :)
whats your perfect pair?

Not quite what I was expecting.....
I was expecting to see the Smiths watch "Crown" logo as well
Speedmaster pro and rolex gmt would be my two...
Here's a couple from me, one quartz and one manual winder (apologies for the image size):
Probably these. Both black dialled divers but one beater and one 'posh'
Not quite what you intended but I think these qualify.
Cheers,
Gary
One quartz, one manual wind; one chrono, one three hander; one diver, one aviator; one classic acrylic; one sapphire; one for travel (quick-set hour hand on the SMP); one for everything else; one case for both:
Again, not quite what was called for, but :

All thats intended is a two watch collection. Which two would you pick? Those are my choices.
My favourite pair of Seiko Tunas..
But probably these two Sinns were the best-matched pair I ever owned - one heavy duty sports watch with quartz movement and lots of strap choices, perfect for my work at sea but also smart enough to wear with a suit, the other a quite elegant mechanical watch that looked great with when I have to dress smartly - yet also had 200m water resistance and was tough enough to wear on holiday.

Simples. Not always the most practical but still a lovely pair.
Black & white.
Quartz...
Manual...
In theory my Speedmaster and SKX023 would be all I need
must admit the first thing that jumped into my mind was what used to appear on page 3 of the Sun..not watches!
A pair of Senators
My Tim, what a lovely pair youve got!
Similar to Shadowman but 44mm 390 Base instead of 47mm 372 Base!
The 390 and the 232. Perfect SE Duo!!
There's not much that these two can't do between them...
Would be a couple of vintage for me and I would need some color...
'72 Tudor Monte Carlo...
'67 Doxa Pro 300 Black Lung...
Some really nice watches here, though I tend to go for the Panerai, just wish I could afford one.
The 'retirement' watches.
Cheers,
Wooster
I pretty much always come to the conclusion that these two will cover 99% of occaisons. The RO is a dressy/work watch, that can just as well suit casual wear. The FF is all the sports watch I'll ever need. Both have inhouse movements. Both have a good power reserve, so I don't have to worry about either stopping. The FF has a changeable look with different straps.
one quartz,One auto
How about an all-quartz solution?
One daily all-rounder, and something for the weekend.

2 Quartz.
Thanks Chris, the straps came from ebay.

They're ok quality wise but I really wish they tapered to 16 or at least 18mm.

A pair of Blancpain
One dressy, the another sporty dressy

currently it's this pair...
The very first Seiko automatic Tuna and the current one... my precious
For a moment there I thought this was a question which belonged in the ‘Norks’ thread in the ‘Boys Room’!!
Anyway.....
I currently only have one half of my perfect pair, but hope to rectify that before too long –
Omega Seamaster Pro 2254.50
Omega Speedmaster 3570.50
Once I have both I think I can sell any others I have, as they won’t get a look in.
Not my "perfect" just yet but perfect for what i can afford at the moment. I will take better photos at some point!!
I was trying to get it down to one only ("If you could have only one watch...."), when I got the AT. However, the Speedy, among other things, is the most accurate watch I have ever owned, and I just couldn't let it go. Besides, there are quite a few on the pre-owned market, and I just don't want to take the loss, since I got it new.
So, one represents the old, basically unchanged but modified, since 1957, and the other reperesents the new.
Cheers,
Carl
This was my perfect pair. Sadly both are now gone as I had to raise funds for a house purchase. I plan on getting another DSSD soon though and hopefully the Hublot will follow if my money pit of a house doesn't drain me too much...

These two for me
Both my favourites, one for work one for casual
