Out for dinner with the wife this eve and have decided that a GMT is the way to go.

Why on earth would anyone want two watches so similar? (says the man who has just reduced his Speedy Pro collection down from six to three). I really do not like the WG marker surrounds on later Rolex, so it would be the older one for me.

    New or Old????

I much prefer what I believe is the older one. What is the age difference between them? Sorry if that is a daft question I am new to this.

    Not a daft question,
One is the first watch I ever bought, 2001 model 16710.
The other is my most recent acquisition, birth year (1978) 1675.

I once drank a bottle of wine called 'Old Git', which carried the tagline "Be Bold, Go For The Old" and that has stuck with me ever since!

The old one looks very nice to me and I can understand why you would want more than one of these watches, very nice.

there is a strong message that it's time to get rid of the GMT master II.... and free up some cash for a new watch :)

The old one looks so much better...in pictures. ( can't say the same in the flesh as it seemed lost on my 7,2 inch wrist)

I always tend to like the newer modern iterations but in this case the old one is miles ahead.

I probably wouldn't notice the differences unless they were side-by-side, so after some looking I've decided I prefer the older one. Might be too late for your wearing choice though!

Agree with this. And also with the general feeling of old is better than new in this case!

    Go for it!

Its not just the larger size, its the colour, the creamy yellow of the tritium. Beautiful.

The GMT is all about colour with its blue and red bezel, in comparison the dial of the newer model looks kinda washed out.

I find the older more photogenic, but I prefer the newer in the metal.

As a Pepsi, I prefer the older GMT.

If not a Pepsi, I prefer the new GMT2C...

You just never know when 5 or 6 times zones may be required ;)
It's just a matter of time...

The 1675, no doubt about it

    New or Old????

I want to say keep the newer just to be contrarian but I'd be lying... The older one just looks so much better (IMHO!)

You are right the creamy tritium on that watch or any old watch really adds to the character.

Older by a mile. Never been much of a Pepsi bezel fan - massive fan of the original Root Beer though!

As for the watches they are both stunning but the old ones character edges it for me, looks stunning in the photos.
