The 5980 and 5990 are great pieces and those pictures prove it. However, the budget can only stretch to the 5711. I have been quoted a 6month delivery time for the aquanaut, I was expecting it would be much less than this.

What is a realistic delivery time for the 5711? I understand the OP got his within a few weeks but have heard that it could be anything up to a year.

I swear I see aquanauts all the time!??? Have you tried contacting various ADs? 5711 I think you just need to be lucky, I was very fortunate coz they were just receiving a shippment seems like.

There's one on at the moment, on the bay of thieves, price seemed low, but I asked for his address and Tel No. ... Answer was he's working offshore ;-)
Although to his credit, I asked for pictures of the certificate and one shot with the watch set at 13:43...which he did... I asked for his next airport, ... not possible to pick up...I backed down.

Thanks for all the advice here. After over a year of researching both the 5711 and aquanaut, I am still undecided. I have not seen either in the flesh apart from a 5164 which I tried on at WOS Regents street, they didn't have the 5167 in stock at the time.

I have heard great things about the 5711 dial and it's subtle changes in different light, how does the 5167 dial compare?
