First push the crown back in.
If you look at the pic

You should see a dimple where the arrow is pointing. The crown should be in the "IN" position. Press down at this point while pulling gently on the crown.

I replaced a crystal on one of these recently and found that it was quite difficult to get the back on.
Eventualy I resorted to the following.
Take out the nylon sealing ring and fit it onto the case back.
Put the caseback/sealing ring into a plastic bag and put it in the freezer compartment.
Allow to cool down and quickly refit to case. (I used a caseback press). If you damage the nylon sealing ring they are stocked by Cousins.
    Hope this helps.
    Kind regards
    Dave

    Thanks!

Thanks VERY much for your reply to Lovewatches, Dave!
One of my parishioners asked me to repair his V732C of which the no. 12 (no numbers, only little bars with 2 pins each) and 10 bars had come off, blocking the minute hand. I came across your post and the crown came off without problems.
Now he has no excuse to come late for church anymore...
    Have a wonderful day!
