    My Sales Purchase

After hitting the 2 main shopping centres in Bristol at opening time I was pretty disapionted in the few pieces on sale. I was about to give up when this caught my eye in the window at EJ. Having already admired photos of this watch on this forum I knew it was something I liked, and a close inspection confirmed it! (the fact it was half price helped as well!)
So here it is - my first Longines, the hydro conquest chrono. I've always fancied a grey/silver dial (the YM being WAY out of my price range) so this fits the bill. I really like the sun burst dial, and the size is pretty much spot on for me. The build quality seems very good - the end links are a perfect fit with no movement at all. There's a nice mix of brushed and polished surfaces.
All in all I'm very happy with it.
    Here's my usual poor photos.
    Cheers,
    Si.

Nice catch - metallic silver dials are pretty rare!

    I take it that it's 7750 based?

Yes that's right - comes complete with 7750 rotor wobble and all! (which I'm not a huge fan of but we'll see.....)

    You'll get used to that!

£725 seems like very good VFM for a Swiss auto chrono.

Very nice Si and a good deal too, well done.

I've got a black dial, handset, crystal, gasket, crown and pushers for this model. They were returned after being replaced at service so have a few marks, all yours if you want them mate.

    Cheers,
    Gary

nice one! never understand why Longines are so under-rated..... you have a lot of watch for the money. lest we forget, Longines have been official timers in lots of high end sporting events over the years.

Very nice, and that's got to be a great price for a 7750-based chrono. Good catch, Si.

congrats Si that and the legend diver are the 2 longines divers I really like, very nice watch good catch mate

I didn't go for that tudor BB in the end (which I have mixed feelings about, still I can always get one another day)

I did jokingly ask for a PO 42 for xmas and dully got a watch box shaped present......................

    .........................f&*king chocolates.........

............who f*&king makes chocs in a big squarish box and worse still who gives that box to someone into watches as a present, recipe for disappointment

hope you had a great Christmas mate & are headed to a happy new year

Hi mate. Did you buy the rubber on it's own? If so do you mind telling me where you got it?
    Thanks.

Si's was a complete bargain then (assuming that SS rrp is higher than rubber)

I have the same watch but with a white dial. Build quality is superb. You won't regret buying it.
