As I caught the late 90s Gerry Anderson revival, I have a soft spot for most of the accompanying Barry Gray theme tunes. One of my favourite non principal themes was a piece he wrote for the Captain Scarlet episode "White as Snow".

I also liked "Dangerous Game" from the Thunderbirds episode "The Cham-Cham"

Some great blasts for the past.

Just remembered Sapphire and Steel. One episode involving a haunted railway station had me petrified as a kid.
Dumpy & Makeshift were the spoof creation of some comedy show back in the day

Not a contender for 'best' but a nostalgic treat nonetheless: Out Of Town with Jack Hargreaves

Cleary, Robert McCall was the man back in the day, and this was his introduction -

The Equalizer, which I hear is being remade as a movie with Denzel Washington at the moment in the frame to take the role of McCall.
It may be bollox but I heard that EW only took on the role after his request to drive a Jaaaaag in the series was granted.

    Two stand out for me.

UFO (this is taken from the just-released Japanese BluRay set)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CvURidpkCY

    The Persuaders

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAxvfmGUjuQ

And I always thought the closing credits of The Sweeney were rather special
