Lovely patina look, looking forward for this one. I haven't seen a sandwich cali dial until this one.

Loving the aged super luminova, the vintage look is the way to go with his one IMHO.

This does look nice. Love cali dials.

Always resisted the italian as I suspect it is too big for my liking, however, really keen to try one of these.

First in line if there is a pass around!

This is not just any aged lume, this is a special development for this watch by a forum member who does stuff like this for a living. I have to say it's the best I've seen.

    That lume looks gorgeous.

What a great combination of unusual features that one'll have. Safe to say there won't be 'owt else out there like it. That is a winner

That's a shame, I don't know about anyone else but I think be able to see any movement through a glass back is more interesting than a solid case back. Still like it even though it might be a tad too big for my 6.75" wrist.....

Well although this is obviously not an out and out clone, the solid caseback is more in keeping with the original cali dialled 3646. You'd be surprised at how svelte a 45mm radiomir feels given its size. I wear a 2533 dial rad alike on my 6.5" wrist and it doesn't look mental big. I think it has to do with the fact that the case is effectively lugless, so doesn't have the extra bulk of those appendages. It has about the same wrist presence as a submariner with 48mm lug to lug dimensions.

This looks like something i'll be interested in come March, it's either this or the new dreadnought, will be good to see the final design when it's ready and what strap combo it'll come with.

Also interested in this to complement my PRS-20 - but there are so many on the horizon that I like I will have to choose carefully!

  11. #61
Missed this one as well as the announcement, on a separate thread, about the release of the PRS30 in February. Next year looks like one of difficult choices assuming I don't just go for all of them!

  12. #62
Looks very cool to me, when will you be taking orders Eddie?

  13. #63
So can we expect to see a prototype of this one some time soon?

That's a point. Is this going to have the flattish sapphire of the standard prs20, or something more domed and plexi and altogether sexy?
Just wondering. A domed plexi would set this dial and handset off rather handsomely.

Prefer a sterile dial and a hoizontal bar.

Agreed, a mid to high dome would look lovely. Can't beat a bit of off axis distortion!!

  22. #72
I'm with Dapper & others here, much better with the vertical baton, although i can appreciate the authenticity. Gold hands work for me as does the white chapter ring, as mentioned above i would agree that applying "Precista" in gold lettering would really set off the dial. The icing on the cake would be a domed plexi which would make this truly irresistible.
Has anyone mentioned a tobacco dial?

Eddie, are you thinking sandwich, or painted dial?

Just an idea of a sandwich, plexi combo (which has now left my ownership)

Looks good. I'm sure its the camera angle, but that plexi looks almost hemispherical! Extreme domage!

It's a prototype but the dial has regular C3 Luminova. The dials had already been made when I got hold of the aged lume and the dials with that are being made now.

Winner! Love the font used for "Precista", the vintage lume/gold hands combo will make it perfect.

Looks stunning, added to my wish list.

  36. #86
That is exactly how a cali should look IMHO & if it turns out anything like this i'm definitely in however 47mm would be too big & a deal beaker for me i'm afraid but a 45mm version would be perfect! Maybe the option of a domed plexi with the aged lume dials & sapphire with the regular C3 Luminova dials could be offered? Although i would much prefer it with a domed plexi. My previous quibble of the horizontal marker at the six position is put to rest after seeing the above picture of the sandwich dial, it looks exactly as it should.

That six oclock marker is spot on gives it a smooth flow with words.

That looks lovely. A domed plexi would give it a different look but there is nothing wrong with the slightly curved sapphire on the PRS20.

I had been contemplating a Dievas califiornia dial - but this has just taken its place.
Cant see confirmation anywhere - is it 45mm or 47mm?

According to the specs of the current prs20 models, its 44mm

  46. #96
I'd expect it to be in the case of the PRS-20, so 44mm.

I think that looks lovely, Eddie. My main criticism of the PRS-20 was that while the dial looked great in plan and spec, in the watch, the numerals were just too close to the edge of the dial, the case. That looks proper. Well done.

BTW, I really like the look of that super high domed crystal.

    Cheers,
