Great choice. I love mine. Incidentally, I reset mine on October 7 and it's currently running +3 sec.

Mine has settled down. Last November, it was approximately +1s/d which quickly became less than +0.5s/d. These figures suggest less than 0.1 s/d. Very happy!

Nice pics mate. Mine always look like they were taken on the back of a horse falling down a well.

Congrats on the purchase and nice pics too. It's looking more and more likely that I will pick one of these up in the year to come.

    That is a great watch!

Who would want a Rolex instead of that!! I have a 2201.51 and every time I wear or look at it it stops me wanting one thats a certainty.

Wear it often with joy K.

Lovely watch and photos and i have an Omega SMP and this would be an obvious replacement/addition.

HOWEVER i am not sure about the bezel on these.

I prefer the shinny version bezel of the early 2500 model.

Please tell me i am wrong.

I prefer the original orange model to the current orange one, but also prefer the dark grey ceramic on mine compared to the original version.

The ceramic takes the quality to a new level. It's uber smooth and seems to be very tough. It also adds to the lack of reflections in bright sunlight. Brilliant watch.

My 8500 XL and 42mm both ran at exactly +3s/d - I can live with that I guess. But the interesting thing is the consistency - could probably get regulated to much better variance.

My previous 2500 also settled down over a brief period and then ran for the remainder of the nigh-on 5 years I had it at +1 s/d.

I bought one a few weeks ago and its perfect. Strangely enough it’s the only watch I have bought in the last ten years that seems to have quenched my thrust for something new. Usually with a new watch I am planning my next purchase within a few days.

Yep, a great modern watch. I got a 45.5'er on a rubber strap, as a beater, and it is superb in that role.

    I'm hooked!!

I've looked at Rolex but these two are by far the most beautiful in my own opinion!

May I be cheeky and ask what price would one of these cost, and would discount be available in the correct place?

If my question is illegal in any way in terms of forum rules please forgive me. Would it be possible to pm me the price with an indication of where to buy??

    Cheers

    Me :)

Although I do like that and great pics too!

Anyone own both the 2500 and 8500 versions? I am interested in what it's like to wear compared to the older/thinner 42mm model?

That is very very nice though and my 8500 watches have consistently been the most accurate auto's I've owned.
It's just a matter of time...

Fab photos! The new ceramic model delivers a huge amount of bang for your buck when compared with the offerings from Rolex. One of the classiest sports watches on offer at any price.

I bought mine from an AD in Tunbridge Wells and got an OK (ish) discount. But not quite as much as Chrono24 dealers seem to be offering.

Never takes long before the "Big R" is mentioned in a thread about Omega, does it ;).

Well, since you're asking, personally I'd like a dealy-wear watch that's less than 17mm thick, so I'll take a regular Sub. I'd prefer the thinner PO without the daft see-thru case back.
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!

I was all set to buy the 8500 but when I tried on the Subc the Rolex clearly came out on top for me. However no denying the 8500 is a beautiful watch and certainly a nicer price!

Karol, the watch didnt look this good in the ADs so maybe you need to do a deal with them.
