It's an automatic watch, so it doesn't have a battery. Essentially, it needs the movement of being on your wrist to work.
Have you read the little instruction booklet that came with it, it will explain things better than I can.
I bought a Seiko Orange Monster a couple of weeks ago, was reasonably happy with it for the first few days but the battery seems really temperamental. If I leave it for a couple of days, the watch dies but starts up again if I give it a shake. I'm thinking it's maybe a loose connection in the battery or maybe a watch thats been sitting in the shelf for a couple of years and has a low battery. Anyone else had any issues? I don't want to send it back, it came from a company that ships from Singapore, I don't want my watch to be gone for a long time.

Welcome. Your watch has an automatic mechanical movement (i.e. it's self-winding and has no battery or electrical circuitry) and shaking it will start it up again if the power reserve has been allowed to run down. There's nothing wrong with it, so enjoy.
Enjoy the forum too, by the way.
Assuming you are not a troll or a complete idiot - this is an automatic watch, there is no battery, wearing it and moving your arm provides the power. See here :

This must be a wind up? (Unlike the watch)
Papa Hotel? Okay, which of the regulars is a wind-up merchant with the initials P.H. then, eh?
Welcome, and thanks for the lulz!
It might be right. I recently sold an automatic with a screw down crown. The buyer emailed me several times. Firstly moaning he couldn't pull out the crown to set the watch - even with pliers. Then to moan that the battery was flat.
Luckily I was able to help him before he totally destroyed the watch.
I have to agree with Tony's ( Learningtofly ) last comment . We all have to learn somewhere, so there is no need to make the OP look like a fool on an open forum.
Ha you try winding a Seiko 5,
just in case this is how you do it
Nice action eh
Haaaaa!!! Splendid.
I'll have to investigate the watch in question later because right now I want to clean my engine so I'm going to flush it out by giving it a good hosing down in the garden.
Whoever does not know how to hit the nail on the head should be asked not to hit it at all.

Try some donuts in your corsa sxi to wind it up.

LMAO! This thread was hilarious to read, especially the OP, SimonK's first response and then the owning up. Well done, all.
Hook, line and sinker!
Well done OP, you'll fit in here well
