I feel somewhat unwell reading that. Oh to have a time capsule and a wedge of cash :)

Just as a matter of interest, what would that £93 pounds be in modern day terms?

I can't see a date on the advert so assumed costs of £93 in 1971 (decimalisation) - £1078.56 according to bank of England inflation rate calculator.

My dad has an 806 Navitimer that he swears he spent 3 bob and threpenny groat on back in pre-industrial days.

He had it valued recently at approx £2.5k so I think he did well. He had a PPL too so can claim kudos for it being a 'tool watch'.
