One of the cheaper ones I can think of:

and not bad VFM.
I really like the "doctors watch" i.e. a watch with a bezel that replaces the tachymetre with a scale for measuring the pulse.
I have only ever seen the Speedy doctors bezel, but are there any others currently in production?
I would like to buy one, but would also like to see any interesting photos etc.
Thanks

theres an unusual one with four ( not independantly mounted ) seconds hands, this is so that they all rotate at intervals of 15 secs . think it was made by gallet but not sure.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
the Sinn 144 has this function for 15 pulsations but only down to 50 BPM but to be honest thats all you need its far more useful for tachycardia and you should be able to work out a slow heartrate acurately at the 15 second mark.
Nice, but not cheap.

Another non-current option on the pulsations theme is the 6139-0020,
Check these out!www.sgallen.com

I used to think these would be a good idea, but now I think they just complicate things. With a small amount of experience it is possible to estimate the pulse within satisfactory limits within five seconds - ten for extreme bradycardia (slow heart rate). However, anything that encourages clinicians to actually 'put hands on' a patient, rather than take the pulse off some electronic device or other should be encouraged.

Of course, wrist watches are frowned upon in the clinical setting now anyway ('naked from the elbow down'), and so I find this watch very satisfactory.
Not currently in production, but JLC did this in a couple of flavours for the Heraion:

(I think that's the chrono..), and also a search on eBay for heraion picks up a couple currently - one of which is the auto rather than
chrono..
That Ball watch is beautiful
I really like the Sinn EZM4 and would love to get my hands on one but unfortunately it's not produced anymore and I can't afford one at the moment.
I tried using the base pulsations scale on my old 70s Breitling Transocean but found it much easier to just count the pulses over 15 seconds and x4.
Plus you shouldn't really be wearing a watch in a clinical environment (unless you're a consultant or in GP and can get away with it).
And the graduated scale is difficult to use if you are auscultating the pulse in AF, as you need to have the watch under your nose and a spare hand.
Pretty useless really then if you are a doctor in today's clinical setting.
This is currently for sale on a French forum - Eterna re-edition (2012) of the 1942 pulsometer. Seller wants 1900 euros (list is 3800 apparently).

I remember you previously owned a vintage Speedy.
Buy a speedy and change the bezel.
Anyone know where you can get a pulsations bezel?
Welcome to the party!
Better late than never!
Ball (as discussed - used they're probably quite affordable), also Longines. Tissot and Patek make them too - something for everyone!
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!
I have a ball and printed my own bezel on vinyl for another watch and a sinn
