    Newmark 6BB-two button chronograph.

After years of searching, the watch is finally on my desk, now all four are together!
A watch that is rare and very difficult to find.
Newmark 6BB 2 pusher chronograph, nothing special, inside is Valjoux 7733 movement, the same as CWC and Hamilton, with only the Precista having a slightly altered movement. All four belonging to the asymmetically cased, double pusher family.
    1970 Hamilton (RN/RAF/RAN)
    1973 CWC
    1980 Newmark
    1981 Precista
    The watch was only issued in 1980, and this is in a very small quantity, I would even say no more than 500-600 pieces, as the highest number seen so far is 499/80...Here´s my list;

    036/80
    084/80
    129/80 ebay 5.04.2011
    140/80 Knirim Page 623
    141/80
    156/80
    216/80
    250/80
    320/80
    330/80
    347/80 Own/
    363/80 dave.charlton
    369/80
    382/80
    418/80 dave.charlton
    442/80 (Case back only)
    451/80
    485/80
    489/80
    499/80

The Company has been around for quite a while in Croydon, but only producing low cost watches for the mainstream market.
Newmark was established in Britain in 1875 as an importer of Swiss watches. In 1947, with government backing, they began setting up a watchmaking factory in Croydon. Tooling for a simple Roskopf-type movement was imported from Switzerland and production commenced in 1950. All components not made at Croyden were bought in from other manufacturers in England. From 1960, they ceased manufacturing and reverted to the importing and servicing of Swiss watches.

    Newmark

I own 363 and 418 but I am sure Terry will have a list of the ones that have been seen over the last few years.

Congratulations Jimmy, a very fine specimen. You mention that the Precista
has a slightly altered movement to the other three, could you enlighten us.
I only have the Precista so am unable to compare but have noted that mine
has the twin legged reset hammer whereas others have a single leg. Have seen
single and twin legs on Hamiltons as well. The Newmark and CWC all have
the single leg hammer that I have seen.

There´s me scouring the net for years, and you sitting with two of the buggers.
It would be marvelous if you could add to the few that I´ve already found. I´ll add your 418 to the others on the first post.

Nice catch Jimmy. Congratulations on getting the set.
I've got #141; ironically I got that one easily and have really struggled to find a decent Hamilton and Precista. I've have a CWC for ages.

Congratulations on completing your set and thanks for your informative post. 129/80 is in my care. I've been unsuccessful in my many attempts to locate a correct chronograph seconds hand for it. Have you any ideas for me?
