Unfortunately, this is now generally recognised as a misattribution. Richard Langworth in his recently published book Churchill By Himself: The Definitive Collection of Quotations lists it in the appendix entitled 'Red Herrings: False Attributions' with the following analysis:Originally Posted by Wednesday

Pete, I found FIVE different versions in less than five minutes of researching it! In the end I left it at the last correction, as I couldnt find any concensus.
I believe his reply was actually "LMFAO!"

That's pretty interesting.
It's amazing how many times we think a phrase or whatever is modern but find that it was used in antiquity.
