    SOTC (Photo Heavy)

This is in two posts because of the 10 photo posting limit

    Part 1

Been shuffling a bit. Not something I do often. Don't like selling watches.
However I felt my collection was becoming a little unbalanced and that it was time to move on a few watches that were not here for the right reasons. In all 8 watches went and a few arrived. I have my sights on a number of watches over the next year or so. Whether i will buy all of them, some of them, or change my mind in the interim, who knows. It is all part of the WIS fun.
The watches currently in my sights.
Definitely another G O , not sure which. A lange , a Duometre a Quantieme, Another UN , probably a PC, maybe a Sonnata. A Zenith Annual calendar. Some thing with an equation of time complication. If I find a UN Moonstruck at very sensible money, I will be straight into it.

I still don't know if my humble collection of watches makes any kind of sense to anyone, let alone to me. But what I do know is that right now there is not one that I wouldn't buy again tomorrow.

    Stunning mate.

If it makes sense to you then that's all that matters. Not sure why that lot wouldn't make sense to anyone.

Looking forward to the next installment.

Tim, bearing in mind how much our collections have changed we need to arrange something sooner rather than later. We need to see sproglet too!

Humble my a**...! Some real killer, astonishing pieces there ;-)....

Well done and keep it up! Is that black Ferrari yours and can we have a pic?

    Wow.... What a collection!

A lot of watches there I would love to own, there are a number of them along with there straps that showcase your very individual tastes as well. Got to be one of the most diverse collections of anyone on here, can't wait to see what you pick up next.

    Cheers
    Luke

There's no doubt you've got some nice stuff there, and certainly a diverse collection. Obviously I'm a fan of the GO and the JLC's, but the Perrelet is the one that intrigues me the most. I've seen your pics before, and got to see some Perrelet models whilst on hols - the chrono in particular though is a lovely piece - and outrageous value when bought grey (esp in the US).

I bought the Perrelet in the USA. From a Closeout dealer Very good value.
the are e very interesting maker. That they also own Soprod makes a lot of module work very available. Their work is of the very highest quality.

It's just a Moschino shirt and some green shoes

    They make complete sense.

Love the JLC's. Not had one of them yet but definitely on the radar for later this year.

You have some stunning watches but it was the shirt and shoes that intrigued me.

Don't ever walk through Glasgow dressed like that and wearing that green Sub!!!

Your taste seems to lean towards the more meretricious end of horology, and if your comments today in the BP reflect your true personality, you don't have the class to carry even those off.

Spare room? I though the idea of an Au pair was to join in

Great collection and from what I've seen of you around these parts, you wear them as intended, so my hat is off to you.

Very diverse, although some favourite manufacturers feature. I wonder if that is cyclic or pretty fixed? (ie. the JLC mini collection).

Im a fan of the Perrelet but have to be sensible around such things. I have a weakness for non-mainstream, especially GP (adore your Richeville), which when bought at retail will later cause great pain, but bought preloved they bring more to the party than many premium brands IMHO.

You are of course right Those odd lots need to be bought very right if you are not going lose your preverbials on them . My Perrelet for example has an MRP of £8800 I bought it new for just under £2500 At that price it is never going to do much damage.

I had similar fortune on a GP and its acquisition actually started me seeking out high end/poor residual brands for the sheer good value. Consider yourself officially stalked for the Perrelet

Don't hold your breath for that one. I did sell 8 watches recently. But that is the first time in several years that I have sold a watch. It is very unlikely that i will sell another watch in the next ten years or so.

If you buy a great watch and you buy it at the right price, you will always be ok. There are really very few watches that you can go and pay anything near retail for and come out right.

    Cool oh yes.

good to see the revised collection... Not many i would refuse although the 'ultra thin zero complications' don't do much for me. Think you need another Rolex though

Hi James. Starting to get tempted to order a Skydweller. Do I need a shrink? There is something about the whole A C thing and those months around the edge of the dial. Maybe I will get over it.

i think you will know when you hold one in your hands. I've never seen a photo of the yacht-master that did it justice. I don't like the Sky-dweller in the photos but when i see one... who knows. My accountant will hope i don't like it. :)

Quite agree on the perrelet. Bought mine at a very good price, love it and don't see that many about so definitely gonna be a keeper.

Piaget movements (all in-house) are also very special and their case work is bettered by no-one.

I've been following your collection a while and am trying work out which ones have been sold

The nomos. The steel zenith chrono. Which others?

Certainly an impressive collection and very individual which I like. You haven't played it 'safe' with some of those but I think that's a sign of your flamboyance.
I like the the Sub (what made you do the PCLs by the way?) and the gold GMT. The Perrelet is a looker too. The Germans and JLC you can't argue with..classic pieces. The others are a bit out there too but again, I like seeing people's collections and how tastes differ.

    Congrats and thanks for sharing.

    The PCL on the Sub?

I felt that it looked a bit dull, all in satin. I 'm not at all concerned about it being more attractive to sharks or any other fish. Nearest it gets to water is a swimming pool.
I guess flamboyance is reasonable to levy. I just don't like to be dull all the time.

Last year I spent a week negotiating with bankers in HK. By the end of the week i wanted to poke one of the suits in the eye to see if he was real.

I spend enough time in a suit and with the appropriate watch for that situation. It is nice sometimes to slip in a cheeky bright strap or something that says, I'm real.
