Not for me, looks like a divers bezel was glued on top of a watch that already had a beveled bezel.
An epic design from the 60´s thats availble now from Helson.
Just got it and did some shoot for you.
Recomend them highly and try to get one fast, the first batch is only 100 in total.

Special one indeed
Looks great. Very faithful to the original.
I had a 1888 DS re-issue - that type of watch wears great.
It's not a watch I could wear, but for diving - I can appreciate the "snag-free" nature of its design. It looks purposeful and a nice thing to own :)
I'd love an original.
It's just a matter of time...

I would call it a perfectly respectable homage :POriginally Posted by JasonM
Run it by me again; you are on TZ-UK owned my Eddie, who sells what kind of watches again.....?
I'm not sure that Hans topic is the right place for this discussion, but for me all the recent watches that copy the designs of past dive watch icons with such accuracy are in a way almost diluting the 'specialness' of the originals.... Maybe it's just me..... :DOriginally Posted by WatchScout

That looks great, lovel the styling
Reminds me a bit of a combo dial on a safe
Contrast :bounce:
I would love to have an Certina version but i have failed to get one in the condition i require.
Most of them are well used and banged up.
I do have an another homage with the Technos brand on the dial that i collect dearly from this forum.
Compared you can see there is some differences.

Not for me as well, but it looks solidly built.
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
Sure it is, this is WT :POriginally Posted by JasonM
Horses for courses and I sort of see where you are comming from, but I do not agree.
As long as the manufacturer flies their own flag i.e. have their own brand name on the dial hence is not a fake, they are OK in my book.
The other argument will to some extent include Eddies watches and that is not the case IMO.
The PRS-20 has some traits from some historical watches of course, but it says Precista on it. That is how it should be.
I really wanted a vintage one, but as you say; always either too expensive or too banged up when on the market.Originally Posted by 9:59
I settled for the 1888 re-issue, which is a wonderful watch in its own right.
.....would still have been great to have had the vintage one
I really like that, good choice

You usually have such good taste, Daddel  :DOriginally Posted by Daddelvirks
You have slipped up a few times, but we will not mention that amongst all the nice watches, though the couple of times you slipped have been really grim! *COUGH*white SINN*COUGH*  :D
Out of interest; did you ever try to handle the Helson or any of the Certinas - either re-issue or original?
They wear great. Personally, I think they all look great too, but horses for courses etc.
I even like the modern DS3 Chrono.

I'm pretty sure there was a bead blasted blue faced version of this that was floating about, looked blooming brilliant :)Originally Posted by abraxas

Clean and purposeful design, but as others have said...not my style. I will also say Hans you are a collecting machine!! I crown you as the king of dive watches. Over
the years I have seen you display some beautiful watches from your vault. Absolutely amazing...
like it, in fact I just ordered one
the black dial version as well
like the 60's diver look and can live with height at 18mm!
will probably replace my doxa 600t graph which will go out for sale
I like it a lot, have yet to get my hands on a Helson, but the ones I've seen so far have looked very well built in the pics, and the designs (albeit someone elses originally) are very pleasing on the eye. :)
Which original does this belong to? Any pics ?

Used mine more then i use to, and have decided to get one Certina ds2/3 ph 1000 with black dial very soon.
This design is awesome to wear, the height of the case is not an issue.
The 1200 Ploprof is more an target of hitting stuff.
The Helson has been one or two second to slow per 24 hours.
