1960's Tissot.
I've just been admiring my SubC watch strap which I think is supremely comfortable. I've heard that some high end watch can sometimes be let down a little by the strap.
Are there any better SS watch straps out there, in terms of comfort, beauty, engineering and endurance? Would be interested to hear what you think is the pinnacle of SS straps.
1960's Tissot.
Is that a broken Jubilee clip :blackeye:
The Omega SMP bracelet is lovely, certainly the best of my watches, but then I don't own a Rolex (sob).
Speedbird III. I'm not generally a bracelet person but it's terrific.
Best one I've had was on my Grand Seiko SBGE001. Honourable mention for Rolex Explorer II 42mm (the clasp was a thing of loveliness) and also Omega Planet Ocean 8500 (very comfy) but both still not in the GS league
I vote Omega SMP too, and I reckon it's better than a Rolex one.Originally Posted by Loquacious
Another vote for the "bond" smp bracelet, I find it very comfortale, and it "makes" the watch in my view.
However I heard from someone on the forum that the new smp bracelet is thicker and not as comfortable as the old one...
Ploprof mesh
I find the bracelet on my Tag Heuer Kirium extremely comfortable.
The Breitling Pilot bracelet is very comfortable as is the early IWC bracelets found on the 90's flieger watches.
My new Reverso has a very, very supple 'beads of rice' style bracelet that literally drapes across the wrist. The oyster bands on the Rolex's I've had have been comfortable and I love the look of them but my Breitling bracelet is far more comfortable and, dare I say it, put together much better.
The bracelet on my gmtiic was the best I've worn.. But the polished centre links just don't do it for me.
The strap on the Temption Curie. I have heard that these are outsourced and that similar straps have been used by Kemmner and Fricker.
I love the x71 bracelet on my BP. Way more solid that my old 16610, almost no gap between links but they mesh perfectly and the highly polished edges with brushed is :cloud9:

SMP Bond, preferrably with a 2254.50 attached.
Not difficult to refinish either....just time-consuming.

The engineering is better, but in terms of comfort I'd say its better than a new Rolex but not as good as an old 93150.Originally Posted by oristyke

best in term of look: solid oyster; comforty, watchado
I'm currently enamoured with the GO Seventies bracelet - it's extremely solid, but the large/small alternating links allow it to wrap around your wrist comfortably. The microadjustment on the clasp means it's easy to keep it fitting perfectly all day.
+1 for the SMP bracelet.
But the Seiko Monster Bracelet is not that bad either.
Notable for quality & finish IME,

Glad to hear it. ;)Originally Posted by walkerwek1958

For sheer comfort and looks (not adjustment) I have to agree with the earlier posters and say Speedbird III.
I'd agree that the ROO bracelet is incredibly solid, but very comfortable. I've only ever tried one on in an AD, but it felt like an extremely well-made bit of kit. It also made the very large case fit very snugly to my small/medium wrist - better than the leather strap, in fact. (I have a RO, and although that one is good, it's not perfect - the angled edges catch a little bit and can feel sharp, whereas the ROO is a bit more rounded IIRC).Originally Posted by S.L
I've always been a big fan of Ball bracelets and I just become a mesh convert after sourcing one from a Helson shark diver.
Deep Sea, unbelievably comfy, and clever
Not everyone's a fan, but the I really like the Rolex bracelet (oyster), can't tell you why, but whenever I see the omega bracelets they seem to look slightly "off". No doubt that's just me being used to the Rolex one, but there you are.
The new VC overseas bracelet looks amazing IMO, but no clue how it wears, will be interesting to see if it looks dated in a few years or not.
p.s. the AP RO bracelet is pretty iconic as well. Not for everyone, but I'm a fan
I also think that the SMP s/s bracelet is one of the best. I also had a Seiko watch with I think what's called a jubilee bracelet that was very good.
I've tried a few bracelets now, including the SBIII and 2254 ones and this is the most comfortable and easiest to adjust so far!
So we're not talking about straps at all
The excellent GO & IWC bracelets have already been mentioned. The GO’s links are pretty big so all the fine adjustment is via the clasp, but at +/- 1mm increments you can’t really fail to achieve a good fit. The IWC on the other hand works by having different sized links with a really easy adjustment system.
I also really like the rubber coated steel JLC bracelet. It has a very high quality feel and the way the links connected to the deployant are designed, gives you 4 sizing options without needing any tools.
The modern Doxa bracelet is nicely made, with the clasp extension allowing a bit of adjustment without tools.
I like the simple look of the Orfina Porsche Design bracelet and with the clasp being spring loaded it’s always comfortable, even though the design is a bit flimsy.
I generally like simple aesthetics so the Rolex Oyster bracelet appeals, although it's nothing special in terms of comfort & the clasp feels cheap & nasty. I also like the Sinn U Series / 757 bracelet. The 757 version has the tegimented steel so it's is great at shrugging off scuffs.
On the other hand, I get really annoyed with the Seiko split pin bracelets & whilst they might be considered acceptable on a cheap watch – putting them on the MM300 is pretty poor.
I don’t like Jubilee style bracelets especially Bi-metal & the could never get on with the Gay Freres beads of rice bracelet I had with my Siffert Autavia – it looked OK, but was just too flimsy for my taste.

Wanted - Damasko DC57
Particularly on the 15300/15400 - the 15202 one doesn't quite have the same feel of quality about it.Originally Posted by mg123

This one is the best of mine:
Comfortable, nice clasp, matches the watch, what's not to like?
Cheers,
For me a couple spring to mind.

Actually the watchadoos are also excellent.
I think the best I've had was on the JLC MC and the worst was on an Omega Moonie.....
SS Shark mesh for me, in particular Omega flatten mesh style. Simple, classic, and look gr8t on just anything.
100% agree. I own both and if you put SMP bracelet against Rolex....Omega wins hands down.Originally Posted by Blackhawk

I have both and the SMP bracelet is head and shoulders above the Rolex bracelet. Mind you the Rolex is a 2004 model and I know the new bracelets have been upgraded. But the SMP bracelet is the comfiest I have ever worn.Originally Posted by Loquacious

PRS-3 is about 10% of the price and is the equal of the Omega imho but in terms of bracelets Eddie's are ace.
