I'm already looking at my next purchase ,only a couple of days after the latest acquisition  ,you know how it is,anyway i have a hankering for an Heuer diver,PVD or stainless not fussed, but there does seem to be a variety out there.
I would love to see some of the Heuers owned by some of the forum members and if possible an id on them so i know what to look for when the time is right, size as always is important ,and would prefer some of the larger 40mm plus models.
So show me what you've got...
Thanks for that Blackie,the last pic,is that a 980.006?.
Thorpey, I've had pretty much most Heuer diver models at some point, have a look at my blog, select 'Heuer Divers' from the drop down, and there is loads of info.

980.023 as Blackie points out. One to look for is the Heuer dial version 8)Originally Posted by thorpey69

Autavia Diver 100,
This is not what you asked for.
But for me, the Broadarrow is a very respectable alternative to the Heuer Quartz diver.
Not sure of the year on this one,
but it must be nearly 10-years old (sold between 2003-2007/8 I think)
Thanks for the info :) ,wow Stewart that's some resource you've created there, plenty of reading, that should keep me occupied for a while.
Cheers bud. Barring the olive drab PVD cased variants, I think I've catalogued all the full sized 42mm models. (or have them, but haven't got around to it yet).Originally Posted by thorpey69
If you spot any Heuer divers for sale, drop me a pm if you want any advice etc.
Here are mine and listen to Europa, he is the guru on these.
Not a great photo, must work out how to use the 710's camera. My TAG 1000, 980.013 I think. I think it was originally two tone gold/stainless. I've never seen another with the red markers. Oh, it's on a 6.5" wrist.
Not mine, but i will get my hands on one, hopefully pretty soon. The Heuer Super Pro, ugly as h*ll and one of the most iconic dive watches out there!
I too have a Super Pro as per the picture from Nono, however I am about to get my Spirotechnique back from James having had a little bit of TLC.
That Spirotechnique branded Tag is arguably one of the most significant Tag/Heuer dive watches in their long lineup.

Indeed. That watch used to be mine (and I believe the photo still is...). ;)Originally Posted by Nono
A massive lump of a watch and probably the ultimate expression of "tooliness" in Heuer's range - even if they only made a few before the TAG buyout.
Hope that you don't mind for borrowing your picture :wink:Originally Posted by PreacherCain
I have been lusting for one some time now. I really want the Heuer, not the TAG version. Only i have read that the early versions had problems with crown (possible cross-threading)
No problem. :)
I'm not sure cross-threading was just a Heuer problem - they seem to be easy to cross thread for some reason. Mine had a generic crown fitted for that exact reason - Heuer-signed crowns are not easy to find so I had the tube and the crown replaced to give the watch a measure of water resistance.
So it was a general problem then....but i think if you are carefull with that crown you can avoid sush problems. I allways push the crown to stem, and turn it in the opposite direction so that the threads can align. Than i screw it in with no problems
Like Stewart or maybe not quite but close, I too have had a number of Heuer Divers. Now I have three left and they are all keepers.
This is possibly the rarest and hardest to find, the orange dial automatic reference 980.005 in 42mm case. Note that the hands are not original.
This one is the reference 980.002 with luminescent dial, quartz movement and 42mm case.
And here is a group shot
If you want the full list of all the models that were produced by Heuer visit the master reference table over at OnTheDash and scroll down to the divers section.

Nice one Paul. It was actually your collection and wonderful photos that really got me into my Heuer diver obsession. PS, you have a typo, the full lumer is a 980.032, just in case someone was hunting for one.
As regards the crown cross threading issue.. Just wanted to say that with regards to the old heuer divets... I've never heard of that problem, and I've never had that problem.
I think the comment was about the SuperPro, just wanted to make that clear!
Also, it's worth noting that only the later slimmer (c1984) Heuer divers had signed crowns.
I've never had a bad crown either...
Here's another on its way
A few pictures of mine... :D
Superb them Wazza
This thread needs a Two Tone...
Ive got a 2 tone ana-digi at home but it needs a bloody movement :x

My 980.006 with heavy patina (shall i say water damage..?)
And the jumbo night diver (980.032N)
Can only recommend them, they're modern sized classics, that are still reasonably priced
One of my longer term projects is a sort of "resto-mod" of a TH Super Professional.
I bought a not very special example, and so far have totally stripped it down, drilled the lugs, and removed all case damage from the years of use, re-polishing prior to the next stage.
I will then soda blast the whole thing, get it DLC coated and finally relume it (including the bezel) with X1 lume.
As I stripped the watch before wearing it too much all I can add to this thread by means of experience so far is that the strip down has revealed a very robust case design, the SP really is a tank.
And I gather TH still stock parts for it
Sounds like a great project!
I too am planning on modding a two tone jumbo:
I bought one ages ago with water damage (not the one I posted above, another, two tone one), missing crown and non-working movement. Planning to do a "Black Bay mod" (one similar to this one, but with original Tag Mercedes hands & black bezel insert: https://heuerville.wordpress.com/201...ck-bay-custom/)
Movement was quite easy to source from cousins (bog standard ETA/ESA 955.114), SS crown from Ofrei US.
Some of the original gold accents will be replaced with SS (bezel outer edge sanded down, SS crown), but some will stay (gilt bezel insert fonts, dial & handset)
Also got an aftermarket solid link rivet bracelet to go with it. Can't wait to see the end results :)
