    Breitling Emergency Review

Seeing as I've now owned my grail watch for seven months, I figured it's about time to write up my thoughts on it. It's all on my blog here:

Definitely a very interesting watch. I've always been slightly bemused by the less than stellar WR rating for it though. I suppose it follows the old adage about superlative WR being unnecessary for aviator's watches - if you need deep water resistance, you're probably buggered anyway...

Interestingly, having worked in a sector where you'd expect to see a fair few of these 'in use', the only ones I've seen in the wild have been in wine bars...

    Thanks for that great insight.

I've often wondered how the antenna is deployed.

Hope you never need it but if you do then you'll be glad you have it!

Thanks for the kind words all on both the watch and the blog.

After nearly a year with the Breitling Emergecy I'm happy to report I've not had need to deploy it's ELT (and long may that continue!). The watch has stood up very well to what is a pretty tough life in a hot and steamy tropical climate. I'm not one to baby my watches and I was a little worried the Emergency might end up looking a bit of a mess but there's barely a mark on it. A couple of very faint marks on the bezel is all there is to show and the crystal is thankfully unmarked, despite many aircraft/watch "interactions" along the way. Time keeping wise it's lost 3 seconds over the year which I'm pretty happy with.

The only bad thing I can comment on is, the rubber strap has become a little odorous, despite my numerous attempts to clean it; tips anyone?

    nice review, would love another.
Should really get my previous watch restored though.
Spent fair bit on it, then the Mrs goes and broke it. Brother mentioned this site, but guess better give the manfactuer a call first and see what they will quote me. Should i be looking out for any criteria in a repair?
