Thread: What to recommend up to £500?

What to recommend up to £500?

A friend has ask me to recommend a new watch up to £500.00 - Something with a military / toolish appearance.

I'll suggest he looks on Eddies sight at the Precista's but any other thoughts?

    £500 might just buy a Lum-tec.

Another vote for CWC. I'd go for the RN non date, auto diver.

Helson or Deepblues are decent pieces

One of these would fit the bill with plenty of change.

Has it got to be new? A used DA36/37 would get my vote.

PRS-18 or PRS-3 would be pretty good too.

Another vote for CWC - diver or chrono. I'd also take a look at a Revue Thommen Airspeed Chrono Quartz - new for a bit over that (around £600) or used for around £300.

I would go for the Smiths Military:

I really like the clarity and simplicity of the watch.

I bought a victorinox manual not so long ago and they seem to be great quality for the money. Worth a look maybe?

Another vote for either an SAR/GSAR.
Or if quartz is your thing then either CWC SBS or CWC RN diver.!!!!!!!!!

  32. #32
Surely it could only be a PRS-3, PRS-5 or PRS-50? If your friend could squeeze another £100, they could get the 3 AND 5.
    Job's a good'un!!
