£500 might just buy a Lum-tec.
A friend has ask me to recommend a new watch up to £500.00 - Something with a military / toolish appearance.
I'll suggest he looks on Eddies sight at the Precista's but any other thoughts?
Andy
Wanted - Damasko DC57
£500 might just buy a Lum-tec.
CWC SBS !
...can't get much more military and toolish... and save £200 :thumbleft:
Steinhart OVM or Helson Skindiver
Another vote for CWC. I'd go for the RN non date, auto diver.

One of these would fit the bill with plenty of change.
Has it got to be new? A used DA36/37 would get my vote.
PRS-18 or PRS-3 would be pretty good too.
Another vote for CWC - diver or chrono. I'd also take a look at a Revue Thommen Airspeed Chrono Quartz - new for a bit over that (around £600) or used for around £300.
Marathon SAR, and somebody has one for sale. :)
Citizen Skyhawks are awesome.
Maybe a Victorinox Dive master 500?
I would go for the Smiths Military:

I really like the clarity and simplicity of the watch.
Steinharts, Seiko SKX range
I like some of the Hamiltons.
PRS14 would be my choice, if you can get your hands on one
I bought a victorinox manual not so long ago and they seem to be great quality for the money. Worth a look maybe?
Second hand MKII Vantage. I can speak from experience. One just arrived in the mail today!!
Christopher Ward C60, great watches
Magrette Moana Pacific PVD?
T.A.C.T.I.C.O TC2, but he has to hurry if he wants one
Best regards
Jon
Something like a Marathon GSAR ?
Hamilton Khaki range?
Steinhart Military. Here's mine -
Another vote for either an SAR/GSAR.
Or if quartz is your thing then either CWC SBS or CWC RN diver.!!!!!!!!!
Surely it could only be a PRS-3, PRS-5 or PRS-50? If your friend could squeeze another £100, they could get the 3 AND 5.
Job's a good'un!!
Glycine. Interesting brand and great value watches

Some of the VictoryNox stuff looks pretty good.
