    Watches of 1968 vintage

Thinking of getting a watch from 1968 and wondered if members who owed a watch from 1968 would post up a picture to help me decide 8)

Cracking start, No suggestions but I shall watch this thread with interest, no doubt for the same reason as the OP. '68 was a vintage year

    Re: Watches of 1968 vintage

1968 is my year, so had a couple of Seiko's.

This is actually not only a birth year, but a birth month so couldn't let it pass

Then this Seiko turned up on SC and just fell in love with it. Didnt realise at the time it was a birthyear, so that was a bonus. :)

Did post a note not too long ago about a birthyear Rolex. For whatever reason, I just wanted one but it had to be a full set, ideally a metres first 5513 but would also look at a GMT. Was being quite picky about it, never bothered about documents before but as this was a special one to me, wanted it to be just right.

Pretty much seen every year in the 60's apart from 68, so just thought would not spend so much time searching for it, and let it come to me whenever it fancied. Couple of weeks ago, it did, a 1968 full set GMT. :) Still not seen the 5513 I was originally after but well happy with this one.

I missed your post the first time round. An excellent renovation, and I enjoyed reading the Bond story as well. Thanks for posting.

I can play! These two from '68:

And there's a good chance these ones are too but can't be sure:

This one's being restored at the mo, can't wait to get it back:

Being of 1968 vintage myself, I do find this thread very interesting.
No wonder the Omega Seamaster 300 is so popular, it looks very nice indeed.
So I browsed the net a bit, and found this Omega for sale:

Sorry if already posted elsewhere on TZ.
I think lacking funds wont permit THAT 1968 watch for me

Here's mine: a cheap'n'cheerful 6602-8050 from 1968. The grey/brown dial has a very pleasing sunburst finish and is actually rather beautiful to me. Scoose the fluff.

I had no idea 1968 produced such jewels. Some really beautiful watches in this thread.

Very nice indeed. I could see that being my '68 watch as well, and I normally don't think about vintage. Thanks for posting everyone.
