Watched 'A Star is Born' last night with SWMBO. Usually I'm sceptical when going to see hyped films as inevitably they end up being a let down. Not this one. I thought it was a magnificent film with an incredible soundtrack. Lady Gaga for me stole the show with a very accomplished performance as the rising star. I highly recommend this film.

Fas est ab hoste doceri
A Star is Born (Spoilers) For a love story it fired a solid blank, with zero chemistry between the leads. Lady Gaga can sing, but we knew that already, and she’d be a daft casting if she couldn’t. Bradley Cooper did his finest Kris Kristofferson impression, but still managed only one memorable performance: reliving himself on stage at the Grammys. It came as a blessed relief to both him and audience alike when he finally, and grubbily, did the decent thing. At least KK went out with some style.
The Skin I Live In
Spanish psychothriller, highly disturbing!
Mystery Road
Australian thriller with one of the best final showdowns (long range rifles).
Bohemian Rhapsody.
I can't express how good this film is. If you grew up listening to Queen,or even just had a passing interest in their music, you will absolutely love it.
Perfect casting, superb screenplay, excellent acting and (obviously) a great soundtrack.
Just go and watch it....you won't regret it.
Enjoyed Operation Finale. Unsure how true to actual events it is. But a very good film with some very good acting in it.

Watched a cracking horror movie last night called "Await Further Instructions". Like a feature length, extra twisted episode of Black Mirror.
22 July. Shocking scenes, gripping film. Well worth a watch

A star is born. One of the better films I have seen this year. Superb acting by everyone involved and amazing job by Bradley Cooper on the directing! Really impressive that this is the 4th version of this movie and there was still plenty to say and do. Highly recommended!

Watched a preview showing of JJ Abrams new film "Overlord" this morning at my local Odeon, free ticket as well.
Very much a remove your brain before watching type of film, you have to suspend all belief for much of it, however that's exactly how it's intended. The first 10mins is really intensive and nails you to your seat, then you enjoy the ride from then on. It's certainly not your normal WWII film.
My Dinner With Herve, about the rise and fall from success of French actor Herve Villechaize who was the little guy in Fantasy Island and Nick Nack in Man with the GOLDEN Gun, brilliant tragi comic film. The always watchable Peter Dinklage is outstanding imo.

Cracking film, especially when you grew up with their music. I thought it was a shame it stopped at live aid as he lived and was nursed by his girlfriend for some years after that but I suppose it had to finish on a high.
i watched the live aid performance again on YouTube when I got home, amazing.
Not exactly a movie but as it's 85 minutes long I'll add it in here.
I watched APEX last night and if you are even a slight petrolhead, you will love this documentary!
Never knew 85 minutes could go by so fast...
i've always had a bit of a thing about Jamie Lee Curtis.
mind you, i think this explains it https://i.imgur.com/vbo2hSb.gif?noredirect
First Man. Great film. Enough scenes with Omegas as well!

Just watching the Charge of the Light Brigade. I had forgotten what a cracking fillum it is. Makes you proud to be English
Series rather than a film, but me and the Mrs binge watched The Haunting of Hill House Last week. Cracking show.
Watched "Mr Brooks" with Kevin Costner, Demi Moore and William Hurt last night. Well worth a watch. There's even an actress named Thunderbird Dinwiddie in the cast :D

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
This
I saw it last night with SWMBO who is not really a Queen fan. We both thought it was great. The luke-warm reception from the "critics" is somewhat ironic given what they said about the song , which I recall went on to be number 1... for about a hundred years... twice.
For me, the best line in the whole film was from Mike Myers... but I won't spoil it!
Nebraska is only on Netflix for a few days, worth a look if you haven’t seen it.
It’s doesn’t have sex, car chases or guns in it though.
If you are ANY kind of Queen fan, Bohemian Rhapsody is a MUST SEE!

Decent movie
Watched Peterloo last night.
Not an easy watch, but worth a viewing.
Unusually, for a Mike Leigh film - the characters were a bit one dimensional.

Watched "Three Billboards......" last night.
Very good with some great performances.
Don't normally watch comedies but enjoyed 'Game Night'.
Most films these days are total rubbish IMO however watched “Darkest Hour” last night and thought it excellent and what a relief no effing and blinding
The Darkest Hour - exceptional performance from Gary Oldman, even if the script took some liberties.
Bohemian Rhadsody.
I’ve just seen the next Oscar Winning film.
My youngest and I have this theory: when people stay seated when the credits are on the screen|*), it's a good movie.
*) not those Marvels where you know that there's something at the end.

Another vote for Bohemian Rhapsody. Saw it today with my daughter. I thought it was excellent and I thought Rami Malek was superb.
